If there were one holiday I wish we celebrated in New Zealand, it would be thanksgiving! Alas we don’t so I will be vicariously living through friends social media posts and shoots like this one by GRETA TUCKER. Styled and planned by CAMPFIRE STUDIO it embraces the sense of community and a farm to table style approach. Oh to be sitting at this cosy table!
“Autumn is a time to gather; to harvest ingredients from local farms for an innovative spin on a timeless recipe. To sip sparkling wine while pears simmer on the stove. To sit around the table and share stories with friends new and old. The Art of Thanksgiving is a collaboration of Maine artists aligning their aesthetics to craft a minimal, modern tablescape with a muted colour palette. The old world European-style linens combined with the new Nordic ceramics create a Chef-d’oeuvre. These women are artisan chefs, farmers, photographers, artists, and designers foraging a fresh approach to traditional Thanksgiving – through supporting farmers by purchasing locally grown food and sourcing fresh botanicals from a neighbouring floral farm. The recipes focus on harvest ingredients infused with vibrant flavours of figs, maple liquor, pumpkin spice, and autumnal pears. This modern menu combines global cuisine with garden favourites. We are thankful for the occasion to cultivate community from studio to stove and farm to table.“
