Some spaces ask very little of their surroundings. Their history, patina and imperfections already tell a story. For Salone d’Estate, VICTORIA JOY PHOTOGRAPHY and ZAHRA STUDIO EVENTS looked to the extraordinary interiors of PALAZZO CHIGI IN ARICCIA, near Rome, allowing the centuries-old setting to guide every element of this atmospheric bridal editorial. With florals by MOTIF FLORAL, the vision was not to transform the space, but to create something that felt as though it had always belonged within it.
At the heart of the story is the palazzo’s summer salon. Floor-to-ceiling frescoes depict exotic birds and botanical scenes, while terrazzo floors, arched windows and timeworn stone urns speak to the building’s aristocratic past. Here, the room is more than a backdrop. It becomes part of the composition itself.
BEAUTY IN THE PASSAGE OF TIME
Rather than compete with such richly detailed surroundings, the styling takes its cues from them. Bronze silk falls from the table and pools loosely across the terrazzo floor, its movement providing a softness against the permanence of stone. MOTIF FLORAL’S arrangements feel gathered rather than overly composed, bringing together wild herbs, delicate dark-toned stems and unexpected petals in a way that echoes the botanical imagery painted across the walls.
The effect is romantic, but never overly polished. There is beauty in the irregularity of it all: fabric allowed to fall naturally, flowers that appear almost foraged, and objects chosen for the stories they seem to carry.

Nothing appears too new or pristine. Instead, the beauty lies in texture, patina and the quiet relationship between each carefully chosen detail and the rooms surrounding it.
