This gorgeous WAKEFIELD BARN wedding inspiration was inspired by the idea of southern luxury, which made the end result a walk in the park as that's exactly what the venue itself exudes. Planned by HARMONY EVENTS, the unique colour palette of gold and burgundy was born upon finding the most beautiful gold flecked dress and fusing that with the deep rich tones reminiscent of royalty. The reds and magentas are complemented with the cool balance of the grey table cloth and pulling out those cool undertones. North Carolina wedding photographer RAE MARSHALL PHOTOGRAPHY captured the day beautifully and the florals by WILD FLORA FLOWERS were the icing on the cake to complete the overall look.
The barn itself is a gorgeous building with a ceremony space that’s able to hold hundreds of guests for both a ceremony and/or reception. It's also the perfect option for a rainy day which will still offer a stunning experience. The outside of the venue has beautiful natural greenery, horses greeting you and plenty of choices for cocktail hour or outdoor ceremony space.
Just because you're getting married at a barn, doesn't mean you have to stick to one traditional look. Jenna wore an immaculate gold flecked gown from WHITE BRIDAL BOUTIQUE with gold jewellery from HUSHED COMMOTION, and Brad wore a white suit jacket from BERNARD'S TUX.
The shorter reception gown from HERA COUTURE was paired with a derby style hat that really stole the show. Little fashion accessories can make a huge impact on your whole look, and this was such a perfect match with the horses in the background. The hat was the perfect accessory to create a wow moment in a bridal look, and gives an homage to that southern charm with a modern twist.
A big thank you to North Carolina wedding photographer RAE MARSHALL PHOTOGRAPHY day for sharing this beautiful inspiration with us. Having been a photographer for over half her life it's Rae's greatest joy to work as an artist and business owner that seeks out beauty for a living. She tells us, "I love beautiful florals, lush tablescapes and glamorous sunsets like the best of them, however I also love to find beauty in the quiet moments. The ones where no one else may be looking. I care about the tear rolling down grandmother's face, the nervous flutters on his face before the first look, the kid that fell asleep because the party went past his bedtime. I love to mix them both together. Details are great, but that's not the full story. You can see more of her portfolio here.
