We’re loving the combination of Southern Charm blended with Old Hollywood glamour in this shoot by A. THOMAS PHOTOGRAPHY. Together with make-up artist Bianca Ramos they created the shoot based on the story of a real life couple. SOUTHERN STEMS created the gorgeous florals and a gown from WATTERS was made completely captivating by the addition of a long sheer cape.

Photographer Abigail explains more about the shoot, “Alicia & Erik grew up in the same town, went to the same high school, & drove down the same country roads… but they didn’t meet & fall in love until years later in Atlanta. When Erik proposed, they knew that their engagement & wedding would have to be different than some others, because Erik is a pilot in the Air Force. When this inspiration shoot started to form, we knew that Erik and Alicia were the perfect couple to put this modern twist of a southern romance on display. Set against a plantation home that was originally built in South Georgia and transplanted (in four separate pieces!) to Sharpsburg in the early 1900’s, Alicia & Erik’s love was on display. The shoot was styled with an old Hollywood glam-type of feel, but we wanted to modernise it by adding new touches like a skirt that could become a cape (all the heart eyes here, y’all). Simple, organic details were highlighted by the natural allure of the brick pavers & fireplace in the back garden. The billowing skirt was reminiscent of a southern belle, while being streamlined enough to fit a Hollywood starlet. A bar cart features mint juleps, the traditional drink of the south, while a simple cake is highlighted by natural greenery. The floral design is very classic, while also having modern punches like air plants & pops of colour in the bridal bouquet. Handmade jewellery, a classic invitation suite, place settings that have been in the stylist’s family for generations, and bridal portraits in the woods top off the beauty this shoot provided. We hope you love these as much as we do.
