We’re shaking things up a bit to start off the weekééò with a wedding that’s a little more urban that what we usually feature, but hey we like to keep you on your toes! Calvin and Georgia were married late last year in a fun filled, romantic and super stylish day ééò I mean the bridemaids wore jumpsuits!
From barbers cuts at the local with the boys in the morning, to champagne with the girls this day started with a bang for photographers WE ARE LITTLE VILLAGE. They tell us, ééòtheir ceremony, held in the amazing St Michaels in Auckland City, was filled with some of the most beautiful words and promises you are likely to hear. The newly weds then wanted to explore some of their favourite Auckland spots and headed to Supreme Coffee HQ ééò Good One Cafe ééò for one of the coolest photoshoots out. This was a local fav for all involved ééò us included ééò we love how this all turned out!ééò
Tell us about your proposal: Calvin proposed on the beach where we had shared our first kiss. It was a fitting and romantic idea, though I think he was counting on it being a clear and moonlit night… unfortunately it was pitch black and he ended up proposing via the light of his iPhone ééò very romantic haha.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I was nervous at first about finding a wedding dress in NZ, with particular taste and limited options. But I ended up trying on the first dress I liked online and that turned out to be the one for me. It was a made to measure dress so I had a few changes made to make it my own and I was a very happy bride!
Describe your wedding flowers: Again, just wanted to keep is simple. I chose gypsophila for the bridesmaids to bring some detail and softness to the bold jumpsuits. And a hydrangea bouquet for me as the gypsophila would have been lost against the detailing in my dress.
What advise would you give out to a couple planning their wedding? I would pass on the best advice we received ourselves; pick three things you want to absolutely nail and make them your focus ééò everything else you can hold a bit more loosely. And don’t be afraid to take risks, or make decisions, or change your mind. Have fun with it.
Most memorable moment? Walking down the aisle. I tend to get teary at other peoples weddings but not my own ééò it was just surreal. Having all the people we love and care about in the same room to support and celebrate with us.
