Timeless, sophisticated, classy, refined – all appropriate adjectives to describe Taylor & Mark’s Country Club wedding captured by JAIMEE MORSE PHOTOGRAPHY. Wearing a stunning MONIQUE LHUILLIER wedding gown Taylor was the epitome of elegance!
The gorgeous bride shares with us, “I grew up in Augusta, Georgia so when we pulled up to the club it instantly reminded me of my childhood club. It fit our aesthetic of a classic and timeless country club wedding. MINIKAHDA is so beautiful with their spectacular view of Lake Calhoun and the landscape with gorgeous rose gardens. We had our ceremony at Lake of the Isles Lutheran Church because when Mark and I first started dating, we would always spend our Saturday’s walking around the lake and admiring the sweet church.“
HOW DID YOU MEET? We met through a mutual friend when we both were in college. We were inseparable after our first date where we found ourselves talking for 5 1/2 hours straight!
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: Mark is a hopeless romantic and set up an entire days worth of activities and surprises. Special people were included at each location where we did different things. One stop was with Mark’s family where we had brunch while another was with my mom getting our nails done and lastly with my sister where we got our hair blown out.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS: This is every bride’s worst nightmare! I ordered my original dress from a local boutique but when it arrived it was a different fabric than what the sample was in the store and was ultimately “unalterable”. Four weeks before my wedding I went to L’atelier Couture and found my dream dress thanks to the store manager Madeline!
ANY DIY ELEMENTS? My mom’s friend Jane hand painted Mark and I the most gorgeous aisle runner for the church with our monogram and wedding date on it.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: I knew I wanted a more monochromatic colour palette focusing on whites and greens to match the ballroom of Minikahda with little pops of blush garden roses. My bouquet was different types of white flowers with greenery. I was adamant about having gardenias in my bouquet since my mom and mother in law both had gardenias incorporated in their wedding days and because I love the smell so much.
FAVOURITE DETAIL OF THE DAY: There are too many to pick from! I think we would say Mark’s grandfathers vintage 1950 Ford we drove from the ceremony to the reception. A close second would be our hand drawn bar menu’s with a signature drink named after our precious pup Leo.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Be patient with each other and make compromises. Enjoy this time together planning such a special day for the both of you. At the end of the day, things will change and you just have to roll with the punches…you get to marry your best friend and that’s the best
part of all!
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? Our most memorable moment was taking a minute after the ceremony with just one another while our planner had everyone line up outside the church doors with rose petals. When the doors opened, we got to see all of our loved ones who were there to celebrate us and walk through falling rose petals.
ANY OTHER DETAILS THAT HELP TELL THE STORY OF YOUR DAY? I really wanted a wedding that reflected Mark and I authentically. Everything we incorporated was special to Mark and I and really helped tell our love story.
