This entire weekend celebration for the sweetest couple was a dream come true says Emily of Northern California wedding photographers THE GANEYS. Laura and Johan were incredible patient, waiting an entire year from their original wedding date, to make sure that their guests could be there to celebrate alongside them. Lake Tahoe is a meaningful area, as Laura grew up going there with her family. The celebration kicked off on Friday night, as guests were welcomed to the wedding weekend at EDGEWOOD TAHOE with a relaxed, yet elegant welcome dinner. Guests found their seat on an escort display cut from wood, in the shape of Lake Tahoe. Large structures covered in greenery housed long family-style tables. The brown and white checkered tablecloths gave the evening an approachable, charming, down-to-earth feel. The sun set behind the mountains, painting the sky with shades of pink and yellow.

On the wedding day, Laura and Johan both got ready on property at EDGEWOOD. The bride wore a stunning MIRA ZWILLINGER gown with a delicate floral bodice that showed off her petite frame. The groom wore a classic black tux. Emily tells us, "One of my favourite moments of the day was watching them melt into each other after the first look."

The colour palette for the wedding mirrored a Tahoe sunset. The bridesmaids wore dresses in a beautiful coral shade. The florals by GOLDEN FIELDS were filled with a warm neutral palette - shades of gold and amber.

The ceremony took place by Edgewood Tahoe's 17th green. Tucked into the pines, the location still provides a beautiful view of the lake and the adjacent mountains. A close friend officiated the wedding and the couple exchanged their own personal vows as everyone wiped away tears. After the ceremony, guests mingled lakeside during cocktail hour - sipping on Swedish gimlet's - a nod to the groom's heritage. The wedding reception took place under a stunning sailcloth tent dripping with greenery. Three circular chandeliers provided a modern feel. Lush florals and neutral design elements were the perfect balance for this wedding to feel elegant and warm.

Emily shares, "The evening progressed with more than a dozen toasts. While this may seem unusual to most, it is very common in Sweden - where the groom is from. They crowned two toastmasters who introduced the speakers throughout the night. Every toast was special and heartwarming - producing the biggest belly laughs, or recalling tender memories. It was a wedding tradition that I'm glad we were all able to experience."
