The white washed stucco buildings of Santorini’s stunning ROCABELLA HOTEL, creates a dream-like atmosphere for a luxurious destination wedding weekend. Centered in the town of Imerovigli, ROCABELLA offers expansive and painterly views of the Aegean Sea below as well as the beckoning lust of Oia in the distance. New York wedding photographer FRANCESCA DOMINIQUE captured these utterly stunning images that carry us away to the Greek Islands.
Inspired by those who feel called to host an elaborate wedding weekend for their loved ones, AMV WEDDINGS designed a modern and chic affair. Using the Aegean Sea and the natural beauty of the Caldera as her muse, this shoot followed the fanciful storyline of waking up to the Santorini sun peaking through your window on the morning of your wedding.
Dipping into the pool with your soon-to-be Mr. or Mrs. is the only way to kickstart your wedding celebrations in Santorini. Adorned in KAREN SABAG'S Rêvere swimsuit collection, the bride and groom bask in the sunlight along one of Rocabella’s lustrous loungers and cool off in one of the hotel’s many pools. After a serene morning of swimming and giddy anticipation, the couple ascends to their respective suites to begin preparing for the festivities.
Amidst their preparations, the ornamental and beautiful details of their day are brought together. An invitation design by LAURA ELIZABETH PATRICK calls upon the hues and colour thematic that will be present throughout the rest of the day. Soft blues of the sea, lush greenery and touches of creams and whites are among them. The lush and life-giving florals provided by MARIA VOUDOURI accentuated every element of the day. The florals were composed of a plethora of soft and ivory coloured baby’s breath and roses. Subtle touches of greenery were added to both the ceremony arch as well as the table displays.
A wedding weekend as chic as this requires not one, but two jaw-dropping designer gowns and hair and makeup artistry to go along with it. For the ceremony, international hair and makeup artist, MADELINE ELEANOR, crafted a soft yet romantic ponytail, leaving wistful pieces in front of the bride’s face. This, paired with a stunning EVA LENDEL gown from WONA CONCEPT, created a fashion-forward and modern look for the couple’s nuptials.The ceremony dress by EVA LENDEL is captivatingly sleek in design. Its silhouette curves with the bride and showcases a fabulous train that is both empowering and bold. The groom wore a tailored classic black suit from BUCCO COUTURE throughout the day and it created a regal presence amongst the details.
For the al fresco dining celebrations, the bride changed into the cascading Zephyr gown by OUMA BRIDAL. This dress heightened the nature of the shoot even more with its layered fabric and the detachable train. Beginning the sunset portraits with the long embellished train added a statement that was only made more playful by the removal of the train later on. This look was completed with a trend-setting bow by BOTIAS ACCESSORIES along the bride’s veil. The style was further elevated by the finishing touches of RACHEL & ROSE COLLECTION earrings, BELLA BELLE SHOES and rings by VICTOR BARBONE JEWELRY.
Their serpentined reception table was expertly designed with mirrors to not only reflect the love that the couple shares, but also to highlight the beauty of Santorini evermore. Throughout the day, these mirrors bounced light from the soft blue sky and seamlessly intertwined with the Grecian colour thematic of the wedding details. So as to not take away from this natural beauty, the table settings were provided by SPARK EVENT RENTALS and constructed with clear glassware, ghost chairs and white speckled tableware. These additions were artfully welcomed by WEDDINGS & WHIMSY furniture rentals, as well as SPICY BITES CATERING, and SANTORINI EVENTS. The sweetheart table overlooked scenes of the Caldera and provided their guests with the opportunity to savour in the cotton candy skies as the evening progressed. Situated adjacent to the couple, was a beveled and statuesque like cake from MONIKA KOS SWEETS.
These extravagant and intricate details create an atmosphere rich in experience where fond memories are cultivated and a beautiful journey of marriage begins.
