As I sit here on a cold winters morning in Auckland I'm already dreaming of spring, so I can well imagine the yearning that this New England creative team had for the warmer months after the long winters they endure. Captured by Boston wedding photographer CATHERINE THRELKELD this fresh spring wedding inspiration takes place at MISSELWOOD ESTATE – a charming oceanfront estate set amongst meticulously landscaped grounds overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Florist WILD DAHLIA created an incredible mantle display featuring bright and happy roses and anenomes. The mix of white and pink with burnt orange and brick red made for a beautiful spring motif that resonated well with the Estate's brick and dark wood mansion.
Catherine tells us, "New England winters are long and difficult to get through. Signs of spring come in the form of melting snow and the first flowers – tulips and crocuses – peeking through the hard ground. Caitlyn of CW EVENTS & DESIGN and I wanted to put together a shoot to celebrate the end of winter and the impending warm weather. We brought together a fresh team of New England creatives for a styled spring editorial that made us feel so excited for the upcoming wedding season.
I was most excited to see Carrie of CALLIDORA DESIGN create an incredible sketch of our stately venue for the invitation suite. Misselwood is an iconic fixture on the coastline in Beverly, Massachusetts, and a popular wedding destination for its rocky cliffs and picturesque mansion. Carrie incorporated the venue sketch into the wedding suite pieces and the inside flap of the envelope.
The shoot came together beautifully – it was a sunny and warm winter day that gave us the perfect taste of spring weather. The snow melted as we photographed around MISSELWOOD'S evergreen plants and on their back patio overlooking the ocean. The mansion has a mint green and white room, where we photographed bridals and styled our reception table. Caitlyn brought together Wild Dahlia's lush centerpiece with a stone planter alongside PEAK Event Services' luxe linens and delicate stemware."
Thank you so much to Boston wedding photographer CATHERINE THRELKELD for sharing this beautiful vibrant wedding with us. Catherine uses film photography as much as possible during wedding days when she has natural light available. "I love how my film photographs look like paintings. Wedding photography can be an art, and film forces me to slow down and be artistic." If you're looking for a Boston wedding photographer you can see more of Catherine's work in our VENDOR GUIDE and also in this Moody and romantic Massachusetts Mansion wedding with rich plum tones.
