Set within the remarkable grounds of CHÂTEAU DE SANNES in the Luberon, this romantic editorial captured by Magnolia Rouge Vendor VIVIEN MALAGNAT celebrates the quiet beauty and extraordinary structure of a Provençal garden. Created during a workshop hosted by JEREMIE HKB, with planning by AGENCE FAIRYTALE, styling by WANDERLUST WEDDING and florals by LA BLONDE ET LE BARBU DESIGN, the vision worked in harmony with a setting that needed very little embellishment.
With clipped box hedges forming circles and triangles, towering cypress trees creating strong avenues through the grounds and sculptural details tucked amongst the greenery, the gardens of CHÂTEAU DE SANNES have an inherent sense of composition. Rather than competing with this formality, the creative team allowed it to become the foundation for the story.
The Geometry of the Garden
Seen from ground level, gravel pathways wind between manicured hedges and rows of cypress. From above, however, the full artistry of the landscape reveals itself. Circles sit within triangles, pathways create beautifully defined lines and a fountain forms a natural centre point within the garden.
Vivien photographed the landscape from both perspectives, alternating sweeping aerial imagery with quieter portraits amongst the pathways. The result gives the château itself a presence within the story while ensuring the couple never feels overwhelmed by the grandeur of their surroundings.
There is a lovely contrast between the garden’s precise geometry and the softer, more organic elements of the editorial. Veils catch in the breeze, flowers trail loosely from the bride’s hands and lace moves against the perfectly clipped greenery.

Soft Bridal Details
The bride wore a strapless lace gown from IGILLES, its romantic texture beautifully offsetting the strong lines of the gardens. A delicate veil caught the breeze beneath the plane trees, while LA BLONDE ET LE BARBU DESIGN created an elegant lily bouquet that cascaded loosely down the front of the gown.
Pearl and rhinestone details from SO HÉLO were layered amongst soft tulle, bringing a subtle touch of ornamentation without feeling overly polished. Stationery by AGENCE MDF continued the restrained palette of sage green and cream, finished with traditional wax seals. The details were deliberately understated, allowing texture rather than embellishment to take the lead.

Beside the Water
Beyond the formal gardens, a long pool offered a quieter setting for portraits. Overhanging trees filtered the Provençal sunlight across the still water, where a solitary swan drifted through reflections of green and white. Here, the mood softened considerably. Vivien photographed the bride walking beside the water in her lace gown, capturing the changing light and movement rather than overly constructed poses. It offered a beautiful counterpoint to the precision of the upper gardens, proving how many different atmospheres can exist within a single property.
Beneath the Cypress Trees
For portraits together, the couple moved deeper into the grounds, beneath the plane trees and along the château’s striking cypress avenues. Wide compositions allowed the landscape to remain an integral part of each frame, giving the imagery a wonderful sense of scale and place.
The same approach carried through to the ceremony, set along one of the garden’s central pathways. Precisely clipped hedges framed the aisle while the fountain provided a beautiful focal point behind the ceremony setting. Two violinists positioned at the entrance to the aisle brought another layer of romance to the scene. Framed against the towering cypress trees, their elevated position created an almost dreamlike moment as the couple made their way through the garden.
An Intimate Provençal Table
The reception continued the editorial’s restrained approach. Lace referenced the bride’s gown and the softer details from earlier in the day, while dappled sunlight filtering through the trees became its own decorative element. A delicate creation by VIOLETTA CAKE ARTIST complemented the setting, while SOPHIE CASERTA captured the celebration through live painting, adding an artistic and deeply personal element to the reception.
Nothing needed to feel overly styled. Instead, individual details were allowed room to breathe against the château’s historic architecture and established gardens. Ultimately, the beauty of this editorial lies in that sense of restraint. CHÂTEAU DE SANNES already offers extraordinary symmetry, texture and atmosphere, and the creative team understood when to add and, importantly, when to simply let the landscape speak for itself.
