Arielle and Jake’s story began in 2018 at the University of Colorado Boulder, where a chance meeting over burgers in their freshman dorm quickly became something unforgettable. Although it felt like love at first sight, Jake took eight months to make the first move, giving them the opportunity to build an incredible friendship before romance blossomed. Five years later, while vacationing in Newport Beach, the couple shared an intimate conversation about their future that led to a completely spontaneous proposal in a tiny Airbnb, long before a ring ever appeared. Months later, Jake surprised Arielle all over again with a formal proposal in front of Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World on their fifth anniversary.

Nature was always at the heart of the couple’s vision, making CALAMIGOS RANCH an easy choice from the moment they discovered The Pavilion. While the venue’s beautiful reception space immediately captured their attention, it was the magnificent oak tree wrapped in fairy lights that truly stole their hearts. For Arielle, whose surname means “Oak,” the tree became a deeply personal tribute to her late father, whose love of oak trees and acorns had long symbolised strength, family and enduring love. That meaningful connection carried throughout the day, creating an atmosphere that felt both magical and deeply personal.

Every design decision centred around storytelling. Rather than simply creating beautiful stationery, the couple wanted guests to feel as though they were receiving one of the handwritten love letters Jake had been writing to Arielle since the beginning of their relationship. Together with STILL WATERS PAPERIE, they created an invitation suite featuring handmade paper, elegant calligraphy, meaningful Hebrew lettering celebrating their Jewish heritage, and delicate acorn motifs honouring Arielle’s father. Those love letters continued into the reception, where each table was named after one of Jake’s handwritten letters, with guests discovering a copy waiting inside an envelope at their place setting. A bound collection of every letter invited friends and family to experience their love story in an intimate and unforgettable way.

The floral design became one of the defining features of the celebration. Working with UNIQUE FLORAL DESIGNS, the couple embraced a palette of mauve, cream and soft sage greens that felt both romantic and organic. Rather than appearing traditionally arranged, the flowers looked as though they had naturally grown throughout the venue. The ceremony chuppah seemed to emerge directly from the branches of the beloved oak tree, while reception centrepieces appeared to bloom effortlessly from the tabletops without visible vessels, creating an enchanting garden atmosphere that perfectly complemented the woodland surroundings.

Choosing to share a private first look became one of the best decisions Arielle and Jake made. Away from the excitement of the day, they were able to quietly embrace, exchange heartfelt words and truly absorb the significance of the moment before walking down the aisle. Their ceremony was filled with emotion as Beatles classics played on acoustic guitar, family memories were honoured, and deeply personal vows left few dry eyes among their loved ones.

The celebration continued with an incredible reception that balanced meaningful traditions with unforgettable entertainment. Guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour, a spirited Hora, heartfelt speeches and dancing late into the evening, accompanied by an energetic DJ and live horn trio. One of the evening’s biggest surprises came when Arielle changed into a glamorous bridal mini and joined two drag queens for an unforgettable performance that had the entire reception cheering, laughing and dancing together. It was a joyful finale to a wedding that perfectly reflected the couple’s playful personalities while remaining rooted in family, tradition and enduring love.
