Sarah and Tyler’s wedding at FORBES FARM on St. Simons Island was captured with grace and emotion by DEVOSS PHOTOGRAPHY, planned to perfection by CAROLINE CARTER EVENTS, and adorned with romantic florals by HARVEY DESIGNS. Set against the marsh at golden hour, their celebration reflected both their love story and their shared life in football, balancing elegance with heartfelt Southern charm.
How They Met
Sarah and Tyler’s love story began at the University of Kansas, where both worked in the football department. Sarah oversaw operations while Tyler managed recruiting and personnel. With their lives revolving around the sport, their relationship grew naturally—becoming both a professional partnership and a personal one. “Many people can’t work with their spouse,” Sarah shares, “but we see it as the ultimate powerhouse.”

The Proposal
Tyler proposed on July 3rd, 2023, in Mallery Park on St. Simons Island, a place deeply tied to Sarah’s family. Beneath the Spanish moss, he asked her to begin their next chapter together in her favorite place—now also his. Their golden retriever, Georgia, bounded in with a “Will you marry my dad?” bandana, adding the perfect touch to an unforgettable moment. Family and friends soon emerged from hiding to celebrate their joy.
Getting Ready & The First Look
Sarah spent a quiet morning with her bridesmaids, enjoying coffee, laughter, and calm moments before slipping into her gown. Her dress, “Serenity” by ENZOANI, combined nude and ivory tones with sparkle, an open back, and a refined silhouette. “It checked every box and then some,” Sarah says.
The first look took place beneath the Spanish moss at FORBES FARM, where Sarah and Tyler shared an intimate, emotional moment together before their bridal party arrived. Their golden retriever Georgia joined them, completing the picture of joy.

The Venue & Vision
When Sarah and Tyler discovered FORBES FARM, it was an immediate “yes.” With views over the marsh and a design aesthetic that echoed her vision of “Pottery Barn meets Restoration Hardware,” it provided a stylish yet welcoming setting. Having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in one place created a seamless flow for the day.
Sarah’s vision was clear: elegant and classy, without the stiffness of black-tie. She wanted the day to feel warm, beautiful, and comfortable—a reflection of their personalities, their style, and their love.
Fashion & Florals
Bridesmaids wore black JENNY YOO gowns in different silhouettes, while groomsmen and Tyler donned sharp black suits from THE BLACK TUX. The floral palette of whites and blush pinks, designed by HARVEY DESIGNS, included striking anemones that tied in the bridal party’s black attire. The effect was modern, chic, and timeless.

The Ceremony
The ceremony began with a family friend—also the officiant—singing and playing guitar, a deeply personal touch. Georgia walked down the aisle to much delight, and beneath the mossy oaks, Sarah and Tyler exchanged vows. Their heartfelt words left both bride and groom teary-eyed.
Cocktail Hour & Reception
Cocktail hour unfolded on the terrace overlooking the marsh, where guests sipped cocktails and enjoyed light bites before dinner. The reception featured a plated meal by HALYARDS CATERING, with filet or halibut entrees and a trio of desserts including layered cakes and an ice cream cart.
The evening’s entertainment was provided by AZ-IZZ, a band that kept the energy high and the dance floor full. Sarah and Tyler’s first dance, followed by a night of music and laughter, set the tone for a celebration that was equal parts elegant and lively.
