Adelaide wedding by Emma Sharkey

Holidaying in the Whitsunday Islands, attending their friend’s wedding proved to be the perfect opportunity for Johnny to propose to Demelza! He hired a private sea plane, smuggled up some of her favourite Champagne from South Australia and whisked her over to Whitehaven Beach where he proposed to one very surprised Demelza! Some months later and the couple had planned a beautiful wedding at Longview Winery at Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills with Emma Sharkey on board to capture the magic.

Demelza wore a one of a kind wedding gown that she designed in part herself. It was very much a cross between modern and vintage and turned out to look like a delicate 40’s inspired gown once created. A custom designed fascinator created using hand dyed silks and ostrich feathers completed the look. The boys soft grey suits teemed with a skinny black ties worked in really well with the bridesmaids dresses which were knee length, one shoulder black cocktail dresses. Demelza’s niece and only flower girl Tilly wore a mirror mirror on the wall dress from Mischka Aoki and played the role of flower girl perfectly!

A tapas style reception followed with guests able to mingle inside and out. As the evening drew to an end, warm ham on the bone was served with crusty bread and a Mr Whippy ice cream van arrived to serve up delicious ice cream to the wedding guests. The old barn was decorated with various sized tables covered with white linen and fresh flowers in different shaped glass, crystal cut and white vases.
