Perched along the dramatic Northern California coastline, SEA RANCH LODGE provided the perfect setting for Mary and Alan’s nature-inspired wedding. Captured beautifully by BRITT RENE PHOTOGRAPHY and thoughtfully brought together by WHISKEY FEATHER EVENTS, the celebration blended romantic pink tones, ethereal florals by FLOWER CASITA, and the rugged beauty of the Sonoma coast into a day that felt both whimsical and deeply personal.
A Meet-Cute Worthy of a Romcom
Mary and Alan’s love story truly feels like something from a romantic comedy. Alan had been hired to redesign Mary’s parents’ backyard — work that impressed them so much they recommended he take on Mary’s own project next. As he transformed her yard, the two found themselves talking every day, gradually getting to know each other as the project progressed.
Somewhere between landscaping plans and daily conversations, sparks began to fly. They went on their first date before the backyard was even finished — and the rest, as Mary says, is history.

A Proposal by the Lake
Alan planned the proposal during a ten-day adventure through Glacier National Park, where the couple spent their days biking, hiking, and rafting through the spectacular landscape. Throughout the entire trip he carried the ring with him, waiting for the perfect moment.
On their final evening, in the town of Whitefish, Alan suggested a romantic lakeside dinner. Mary, tired from their adventure, wasn’t entirely convinced and opted for pizza instead. Afterward, the pair wandered down to the water’s edge, where Alan finally got down on one knee — a quiet, spontaneous moment that turned out to be absolutely perfect.
A Venue Close to Their Hearts
The couple chose Sea Ranch Lodge because of their shared love of the outdoors and the California coastline. The location already held special meaning for them, as they had visited it early in their relationship while celebrating Mary’s birthday.
They loved the lodge’s rugged coastal beauty and the opportunity for their friends and family to stay together onsite, creating a full wedding weekend that felt like a shared getaway.

Getting Ready with the Girls
Mary’s morning getting ready was filled with joy and laughter. Surrounded by her closest girlfriends, she described the experience simply: she felt like a princess. The atmosphere was relaxed, loving, and full of excitement as the day began to unfold.
A Wedding Style Inspired by the Dress
Mary’s wedding dress became the inspiration for the entire aesthetic of the celebration. She chose a stunning A-line gown in rose dust — a soft pink tone that felt completely true to her personality.
Pink, after all, is Mary’s signature color. She incorporated it throughout her fashion choices, including pink cowgirl boots worn with her reception dress — a cream design featuring an oversized bow. Adding another layer of symbolism, she wore a crown with her dresses as an homage to one of her favorite historical figures, Anne Boleyn.

Stationery with Gothic Romance
Mary carefully selected stationery that reflected both the venue and the romantic atmosphere she envisioned. With pink and green tones and a slightly gothic natural aesthetic inspired by the novel Rebecca, the designs perfectly complemented the wild coastal setting and the couple’s love of nature.
Florals That Felt Wild and Natural
Florals by FLOWER CASITA were designed to appear as though they had naturally grown from the landscape. Mary envisioned arrangements that felt organic, ethereal, and slightly untamed — a reflection of the surrounding coastal terrain. Using locally grown flowers in soft pinks and warm autumnal tones, the arrangements looked effortlessly beautiful and blended seamlessly into the environment.

A Ceremony in Nature
The couple designed their ceremony to highlight the natural beauty of SEA RANCH LODGE. Mary had imagined the moment for months — walking down the hill toward Alan with the ocean wind catching her dress as the coastline stretched out behind them. It unfolded exactly as she had envisioned: a quiet, breathtaking moment surrounded by the landscape they both love.

A Celebration Rooted in Nature
The wedding design itself drew heavily from the natural environment and Alan’s love of woodworking, incorporating handcrafted elements that emphasized the organic textures of the venue. The result was a celebration that felt as though it belonged perfectly to the SEA RANCH landscape.
From windswept coastal views to whimsical pink details and heartfelt moments shared with loved ones, Mary and Alan’s wedding felt like a perfect reflection of their story — a little romantic, a little playful, and completely unforgettable.
