As the tides continue to change in the wedding world and couples continue to plan nuptials that feel true to them, the creative team of ANNA AND MATEO and planner VIDA EVENTS wanted to prove that even the most intimate weddings can transport guests to a completely different world for an evening. The showstopping florals by VICTORIA CLAUSEN FLORALS have us spellbound.
They tell us, "We chose to tell the story of a travel-obsessed couple who met on holiday in Tuscany. In honouring this part of their history, we crafted a micro-wedding full of Tuscan inspiration and Italian vignettes. Virginia Wine Country seemed like an obvious pick for the location, and we were instantly smitten by the charm of the RED FOX INN in Middleburg. Nestled into the beautiful Virginia countryside, this property is filled with vine-covered walkways and hidden gardens which felt perfectly fitting for the event.
We wanted the details to feel timeless and work in all seasons. Inspired by Italian citrus, we chose a soft palette of buttercream, blush, and peach, combined with dusty blue, neutrals, and greenery. We infused these colours into nearly every detail. Florals filled every corner of the shoot, from the hanging installation of greenery and roses that perfectly framed the crystal chandeliers, to the exquisite centerpieces, to the semicircle ground arrangement that encircled the couple as they exchanged vows.
Dreamy chiffon runners embroidered with real flowers adorned both the cake table and bar, and we pulled in more florals with the sugar flowers on the cake and edible florals in the champagne tower. The invitation suite and menus by LAURA HOOPER DESIGN HOUSE featured elegant, colourful floral patterns as well! The floral details were pulled together with Nioby's stunning INES DE SANTO gown featuring a stunning lace overlay.
Other Italian-inspired details included the lemon escort display, where guests found their names on the leaves and the individual bottles of lemoncello, imported directly from Italy, that served as favours. Welcome baskets for the guests' countryside getaway contained the couple's favourite Italian goodies – pizelle cookies, Italian gummy candy, peach pelligrino, and a local-made candle. The event proves that intimate weddings and luxury can go hand-in-hand!"
