The prettiest elopement ideas in the historical Greek town of Monemvasia

This gorgeous elopement editorial by NIKOS MAKRAKOS captured at the BOHEME WORKSHOP was inspired by the history of the castle town of Monemvasia in Greece. A modern bohemian aesthetic heavily referencing the Byzantine period. Monemvasia is a small historic town in the eastern Peloponnese. Its name is a compound word, derived from the two Greek words Moni and Emvasis and is built on a limestone rock on the southeastern coast which have made for a beautiful backdrop to these stunning florals by DA FIORI DESIGN.

Stylist ADELAIDE DESIGN tells us, "A custom lace gown by STESHA HO with a dramatic pearl veil was created for the shoot and paired with a delicate bouquet. To build on the luxurious lace and pearls in the gown, the elements of ivory, silver and velvet became central to the rest of the design. The colour palette of the florals and table-scape referenced a pale Venetian pink from a building from that time period in Monemvasia. The pale pink was complemented with taupe, dusty lilac and grey to be consistent with the overall aesthetic of the shoot which was to be opulent and refined, aged and muted all at once. The floral centerpiece on the table was oversized and dramatic. We sourced antique silverware and mix and matched it with Venetian style glassware and Italian wood charger plates and finished it off with velvet napkins and gorgeous love letters on each placesetting. The stationery suite by wedding stationery designer CURVED & CO featured a hand drawn depiction of the town of Monemvasia and was done on handmade paper, hand lettered with brown ink.
