I’ve said it before by Greta Kenyon truly is a master at capturing all the pretty details of a weddingééò as is expertly shown in this Auckland wedding of Rhian & Cam’s. Rhian wore a stunning Rue de Seine dress and had Natalie Dent work her magic on hers and the girls make-up, whilst Laurissa Hollis did the hair. And to round off this powerlist of Auckland vendors Leaf & Honey whipped up some incredible florals! Scroll to the bottom to view their lovely film by Side Project Productions.

Tell us about your proposal: He really wanted the proposal to be a complete surprise. We woke up one Sunday and it was a perfect day, not a cloud in the sky! Cam suggested we go to our favourite beach Whatipu for a walk and a picnic. We grabbed some picnic food and a bottle of wine and headed out there. As soon as we set up our spot Cam got down on one knee and put the most gorgeous ring in front of me, I cried my eyes out and of course said yes! We sat there for the next hour or so laughing and crying and chatting. We even decided the month that we would get married! It was so beautiful and so ‘us’.

Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I always knew I would have something a little bit different from the bridal dresses I had seen around. Naturally as soon as we got engaged I started researching weddings and wedding photographers online and all the dresses that I fell in love with were from Rue De Seine. So I booked myself in and along with my mum and my bridesmaids we headed along. The staff and service in that shop is just incredible as well as the gorgeous, unique and delicate dresses. I tried on a variety of gorgeous designs but decided on a gorgeous dress that had a distinct vintage glam feel, almost like it was from the Great Gatsby! The dress has delicate silver beaded sleeves, a scalloped design around the hips, a low back and a stunning full train. All the embroidery is done by hand and was created by the RDS team.

Describe your wedding flowers: I had a beautiful bouquet in earthy tones, soft antique pinks, blush peach and soft grey/greens. They were romantic and feminine but really relaxed and garden, a little wild. It was made up of big garden roses, lisianthus, little peachy dahlias, berries and some pretty soft grey/green foliage and finished with garden foliages and partially bound in pretty ribbon to complement.

Any DIY/Budget elements? I worked hard to make sure we put our own personality and little touches into the church and the wedding venue. We had branches of leaves in glass jars tied to the church benches to give the church some colour and a rustic touch, plus we had the church programs printed with our theme colours and fonts etc. Outside of the church we put on an afternoon tea for our guests, we had gorgeous silver and coloured glass high-tea stands with small little sweet and savoury treats. The food table had jars of wild flowers and the trees had vintage paper flowers hung from them. We got an old ladder which also had jars of flowers on, it was just beautiful!

What advise would you give out to a couple planning their wedding? People always offer to help out and they love being involved. Take the help, give them a small part to own and this will take a weight off. We asked a family friend to help co-ordinate the afternoon tea and this helped immensely as I didn’t have to deal with all the logistics of hiring glasses, staff and clearing up.

Most memorable moment? It’s so hard to choose one but I must say walking down the aisle with a very proud dad next to me and seeing the way Cam looked me was so special. Our ceremony was so beautiful.
