How They Met
Elizabeth and Joey’s story began on Hinge in January of 2021 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Elizabeth, just out of college, wasn’t looking for anything serious—but fate had other plans. Their first date, a playful round of mini golf, quickly revealed a deep connection. Within minutes, it felt as though they had known each other forever. A serendipitous detail—Elizabeth’s last name, Vitulli, and Joey’s, Vitale—hinted at destiny. Just a year later, in Florence, Italy, their love story took its next step with a romantic proposal overlooking the city.
The Proposal
At Piazza Michelangelo, with the sweeping views of Florence as a backdrop, Joey asked Elizabeth to be his wife. The moment was both intimate and cinematic, set into motion by a thoughtful prelude of shopping together for the perfect outfit. The proposal was captured in photographs that radiated pure joy and the magic of a forever beginning.

Getting Ready & First Look
The morning began at the St. Regis Atlanta, where Elizabeth got ready surrounded by her closest friends and family over breakfast and mimosas. Though she had once dreamed of saving the reveal for the aisle, Elizabeth and Joey chose to share a first look. It was an intimate, emotional moment that allowed them to take their portraits before the ceremony and be fully present with loved ones later in the evening.
The Fashion
Fashion played an important role throughout Elizabeth’s wedding journey. For the ceremony, her ELIE SAAB ball gown from LADIES OF LINEAGE embodied romance with long lace sleeves and exquisite detail. She later transitioned into a bold, vintage Escada gown with black beading, a nod to her love of fashion’s edgier side. Her final Simkhai dress, strapless and sleek, was perfect for dancing into the night. Even the rehearsal look—a chic Herve Léger dress with Christian Louboutins and a Stella McCartney bag—was carefully chosen to reflect her personal style.

Ceremony & Celebration
Elizabeth’s entrance down the iconic SWAN HOUSE staircase was nothing short of cinematic, especially as “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey set the tone. Guests were transported into a world of romance and grandeur. Later, cocktail hour offered velvet seating and food that reflected the couple’s personality—tacos, margarita shooters, charcuterie boards, and crispy rice.
The reception was anchored by custom bars wrapped in chinoiserie wallpaper, tying back to the couple’s save the dates. With the energy of the PERFECT 10 Band, the celebration unfolded in a glowing, candlelit atmosphere that captured exactly the warmth and timeless elegance Elizabeth envisioned.
The Honeymoon
Following their magical celebration, Elizabeth and Joey escaped to Lake Oconee for a relaxing mini-moon. Later, they embarked on a European honeymoon, exploring Madrid, Paris, and Amsterdam—continuing the thread of timeless romance and travel that had marked so many milestones in their love story.
