Love, Family, and Timeless Beauty at Lowndes Grove

Set beneath the century-old oak trees of Lowndes Grove, this wedding was a beautiful blend of Southern charm, heartfelt traditions, and timeless elegance. With sentimental touches and garden-inspired florals, their day felt like a romantic Lowcountry dream.

Under the sprawling oak trees of LOWNDES GROVE, Halie & Seth celebrated their love in a wedding that perfectly embodied Southern romance and timeless elegance. Captured beautifully by MADISON SAPP, their day was filled with meaningful details, heartfelt moments, and a touch of old-world charm, all pulled together by MOD EVENTS CHARLESTON.

Seth’s proposal was nothing short of magical. With the help of his mother and sister, he chose a deeply sentimental spot—his family’s farm in Metter, Georgia, where a cluster of pecan trees had always held a special place in Halie’s heart. In April 2023, beneath the canopy of those very trees, Seth asked Halie to marry him. To make the moment even more special, he had carved a heart into one of the trunks with their initials, S + H. Following the proposal, he surprised her with a celebratory barbecue at the family pond house, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

A FIRST LOOK FILLED WITH THOUGHTFUL SURPRISES

Opting for a first look on the balcony of Lowndes Grove, Halie & Seth shared an intimate moment before the ceremony. As they laid eyes on each other for the first time, the emotions were undeniable. Halie surprised Seth with a handcrafted turkey fan mount, a nod to his passion for the outdoors, engraved with their wedding date and a special note. Seth’s gift to Halie was equally meaningful—a custom Bible with her new name engraved on the cover. Inside, he had bookmarked 1 Corinthians 13:4, highlighted the verse, and tucked in a letter Halie had written him on the day they met.

A Dress Designed for a Bride’s Vision

Halie’s custom-designed wedding gown was a true reflection of her timeless and romantic style. Working with Modern Trousseau in Charleston, SC, she brought her dream dress to life—a scooped-neck bodice with a basque waist, adorned in delicate Chantilly lace with scalloped edges. The skirt featured tiered ruffled tulle, flowing into an ethereal train. She completed her bridal look with a simple tulle blusher veil and Gucci mesh slingback pumps sparkling with crystals.

Seth looked equally dapper in an ivory tuxedo jacket, paired with a Brackish bow tie and black ostrich quill tassel loafers. Their wedding party embraced effortless elegance, with bridesmaids in soft yellow Bec + Bridge gowns, accented by ivory rosebud chokers. Halie’s mother looked stunning in an Alexander by Daymor floral-print gown adorned with crystal details.

A Ceremony Rooted in Family Tradition

The ceremony was filled with heartfelt touches, made even more special by Seth’s father officiating. Their unity ceremony was a deeply personal tribute to Seth’s roots as a forester. Years earlier, he had collected acorns from his family’s farm and nurtured them until a small oak tree sprouted. During the ceremony, they planted that very tree together, using soil from the farm—a lasting symbol of their growing love.

Festoon designed breathtaking arrangements of whites, soft pinks, lavenders, creams, pale yellows, and lush garden greens, with floral-lined aisles leading to a ground altar arch.

A Garden-Inspired Reception Under a Southern Sky

Halie & Seth’s romantic garden party vision came to life in every detail. FESTOON designed breathtaking arrangements of whites, soft pinks, lavenders, creams, pale yellows, and lush garden greens, with floral-lined aisles leading to a ground altar arch. The reception featured candlelit tablescapes, scattered bud vases, and lush floral arrangements that felt as if they had naturally grown from the tables.

Cocktail hour was a tribute to their family heritage. Seth and Halie honored their late grandfathers through signature drinks—“A Smile” and “A Lemonade”, named after the playful nicknames their grandfathers had for their favorite cocktails. Guests sipped these special drinks on the patio of Lowndes Grove, enjoying music performed by family friend Joe Weathers, who also played an acoustic rendition of “I Do Cherish You” during the ceremony.

As the evening unfolded, the couple shared a champagne tower toast, followed by an unforgettable night of dancing under the stars.

IN THE EVENING

As the evening unfolded, the couple shared a champagne tower toast, followed by an unforgettable night of dancing under the stars, with music by David Fox of Bunn DJ Company. Their wedding cake held a special tribute—a funfetti layer, a nod to one of Seth’s favorite childhood traditions.

A Honeymoon Extended by Fate

For their honeymoon, Halie & Seth escaped to the stunning Sugar Beach in St. Lucia, where their private villa perched on a rainforest cliff overlooked the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. What was supposed to be a five-day getaway turned into an unexpected 10-day honeymoon, thanks to a global IT outage in 2024. The couple laughed about their extended stay, joking that they nearly became St. Lucian residents—but they wouldn’t have had it any other way.

From a proposal beneath pecan trees to planting a tree of their own on their wedding day, Halie & Seth’s love story is deeply rooted in meaning, family, and timeless romance—a wedding day as unforgettable as their love.
