This is a first on Magnolia Rouge ééò a Latvian Wedding!! Feels a bit like virtual travelling seeing how different nationalities celebrate their unions. The one thing that is indisputable is that love is universal, whatever our differences in decor and styling. Saying that it also amazes me that this wedding could be down the road from me in rural New Zealand or somewhere in the United States with it’s sweet, simple styling.
Russian photographer Ksenia Milushkina travelled to Latvia to capture the wedding celebration of Diana and Ivan. Whilst they had already had their official ceremony in Moscow, they chose to have a party with close friends and family in a small Latvian village close to where the bride is from. Guests flew in from around the world and celebrated in a small eco-hotel in the countryside where they enjoyed great music and a welcoming atmosphere, and could relax for a few days away.
From bride: The wedding day started with a bright sun, but when time came to meet coming guests, a heavy rain started, which changed quickly to sun again. The weather changing didn’t break the mood, even background decoration with clouds and the sun completed the picture of the day perfectly. After each friend is settled up in his room, everyone made his contribution to decorating the dinner hall, lounge-zone, guest-book place. Main elements of decor was brought from Moscow, where we live. After lunch everybody changed their clothes to evening style for a photosession. Bridesmaid were wearing colorful dresses, as a mandatory element for groomsmen were color butterflies. After a wedding dinner all guests went outside and making a wish released a sky lanterns. Informal party was continuing in a cocktail-bar and dancing.
