This beautiful traditional winery wedding by Northern California wedding photographer SARA WEIR has so many gorgeously lush details. Since their wedding was in fall, Hazel & Peter wanted to create something appropriate to the season so incorporated berry and fuchsia tones with a touch of blush. The result was timeless and romantic. Both being from small families they chose to get married at PONTE WINERY, Temecula in order to have a semi-destination wedding with just close family and friends. And of course for the wine! TELL US HOW YOU MET: The very first time we met was in Hollywood 8 years ago. Peter was out with his friend looking to experience his first time at a dance club while Hazel was at the same club having fun with her girlfriends. Peter saw her from far and approached her to dance. Unfortunately, he forgot to ask her for her phone number until one year later, as fate intended, they met again though friends gathering in Santa Barbara. There was instant chemistry. A casual date became a dinner and movie. A movie night lead to their first kiss. However, did could not see each other due to school and kept their relationship through long distance from across the country to within states. Even with all the ups and down, we can truly say that they are soulmates, lovers and best friends.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: Hazel and peter traveled to Cancun, Mexico to celebrate Hazel’s 27th Birthday. Little did she know that Peter prepared a surprise dinner on the docks along the beach shore. With the sun setting into the turquoise coloured water, Peter asked hazel to stand together to take a picture. At this moment, peter got on one knee and asked Hazel to marry him.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS: I went with a dress and skirt that can create two styles, a mermaid and ball gown, creating two different looks for ceremony and reception. So glad I did because ivory colour skirt just made everything pop.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: We stayed away from traditional white flowers and went with fuchsia, berry and different shades of pinks from light to dark with wild flowers to go with the romantic autumn theme.
FAVOURITE DETAIL OF THE DAY: The sunset with the winery on our backdrop while saying our vows to each other something we remember till this day.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Appreciate each other and don’t get stressed on the wedding planning details. In the end, it’s all about you and the other person.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? When we both saw each other for the first time during first look. It was happy and emotional moment for us.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON: Our Honeymoon was in Bali was the most amazing places to be. We did a lot of site seeing and activities from monkey forest, visiting temples, shopping and eating food to the beaches.
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD CHANGE OR DO DIFFERENTLY? Nothing. Everything turned out better than we have imagined and so happy that all our family and friends was there to witness it all.
