Old World meets modern chic in this spring Blossom inspired shoot by Michigan wedding photographer SHANELL PHOTOGRAPHY. After a year of standing still, this creative team were really Inspired to design something beautiful with full creative freedom! The gorgeous flowers that bloom during the spring in Michigan were the main inspiration for the shoot, including local lilac & cherry blossoms. In addition to the Spring blooms, they also pulled inspiration from the popular Netflix show, Bridgerton! "We love the Old World-meets-modern aesthetic the show offers in both the whimsical wardrobe and intricate set design, and the use of all the bright and colourful palettes including lavenders, pinks and light blue pastel tones. We loved showcasing these fun colours in both the table setting and bridal look!"
With design & florals by INES & MARIE the table paired a neutral velvet linen with detailed antique flatware, and a lush, bold floral runner spanning the entire length of the table. "We then went all in with the two toned lavender taper candles, and added in old world touches in the menu design details. For the bridal look, we loved incorporating this stunning MONIQUE LHUILLIER gown with a dramatic sleeve that made such a statement. We then paired the gown with a more chic and sophisticated hair & make-up look for our beautiful model, Chelsea.
The gorgeous custom desserts from PLANTHROPIE were one of our favourite design elements of this shoot. We styled the mini cakes with a mixture of modern and vintage plates, matte silver flatware, and added in cherry blossom garnishes to complete the look. We really loved dreaming up this playful and colourful shoot, and putting our own spin on the Bridgerton aesthetic. Our hope is that it might just inspire more couples to get married in the Spring, because of the gorgeous seasonal blooms only available that time of year!
Thanks to Michigan wedding photographer SHANELL PHOTOGRAPHY for sharing this gorgeous inspiration with us. Shanell prefers an authentic, timeless style of imagery. "I like to think of my style as romantic, yet fun and real. I love emotion and connections, and that is what I strive to capture through my lens. Everyone has a love story, whether it be your wedding day or welcoming a new bundle of joy to your family. I view each wedding and portrait session as a chance to capture the love story at hand and it makes my heart so happy to be able to do so."
