Allana & Guy always wanted to get married on a rural property in a country setting that was intimate and private, and MALI BRAE FARM in the Southern Highlands just south of Sydney offered them all that and more. "We knew it was the venue as soon as we drove in the front gate, so picturesque". Their wedding was held on a beautiful & peaceful autumn day surrounded by rolling green hills, and a cosy fire place with their closest family & friends. MR EDWARDS captured these stunning images of their celebration.
Gorgeous bride Allana wore a stunning gown from MADE WITH LOVE BRIDAL and as a sentimental touch wore her late grandmother's bracelet. "I felt her presence on the day like she was there with me." She carried a vibrant bouquet by BOTANICA STYLE CO. who also created a beautiful arbor for the ceremony.
HOW DID YOU MEET? Spontaneously we both happened to sign ourselves up for the same TAFE course studying Fitness. We met in class and sat next to each other, it wasn’t long and we were dating.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: We were on holidays in New Zealand and hiked the Alex Knob trail in the South Island. It was an eight hour hike for a breathtaking view of the Franz Joseph Glacier. After the four hour hike up the huge mountain and totally exhausted Guy got down on one knee and proposed. After taking in the view and having a picnic it was then a four hour hike back down, which I’m amazed I didn’t fall as I couldn’t stop looking at my gorgeous ring.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS: I found my dream wedding dress on Instagram and immediately fell in love with it. I made an appointment to try it on, I just knew it was the one right away. My dress was so beautiful and exactly what I wanted, the most beautiful part of the dress is the cape that drapes down across my arms and the way the light shines through the lace, so romantic!
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY ELEMENTS? To display the order of the day for our guests we painted a big old timber pallet with white chalk paint and hand painted the times of important parts of the wedding.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: Autumn Romance! Stunning & exactly what I envisioned. A gorgeous loose – structured bouquet that has a natural and romantic feel. In the wedding colour scheme of ivory, blush, nude, pale pink, deep red & burgundy tones. Featured a mix of seasonal and imported blooms such as: roses, garden roses, cosmos, dahlias, scabiosa, peonies, ranunculus and mixed foliage. With simple ribbon finish on the stems.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Don’t be too overwhelmed, break down the planning into smaller achievable goals by having one focus each month. Don’t sweat the small stuff, enjoy the planning & the lead up to the big day, everything will work out and be your perfect day.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? Exchanging of our vows, being announced as Husband and Wife and the emotions that were felt on the day, so many happy tears. Also being
able to dance with my grandfather was so special as he passed away three months later.
ANY OTHER DETAILS THAT HELP TELL THE STORY OF YOUR DAY? My two brothers MC’d the wedding together, many people comment even to this day how they did such an amazing job.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON: After the wedding we had our honeymoon in Hawaii for two weeks, this was where we went for our first holiday as a couple four years prior.
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD CHANGE OR DO DIFFERENTLY? No, the day was perfect & we wouldn’t change it for the world!
