Just a few weeks before the global lockdown Caroline and Kenny exchanged vows in front of 60 of their closest family and friends in beautiful Tulum, Mexico and these stunning images by Dallas wedding photographer KRYSTLE AKIN have me wanting to leap into the screen and soak up the sunshine and festivities. Their tropical boho-themed celebration was full of bright colours, festive music, unique details, and lots of laughter and hugs.

The couple met back in September of 2011 when they went out on the town with a group of mutual friends. They had their first date just a week later and have been with each other ever since. In 2018, Kenny planned their anniversary trip to Palm Desert, California where he asked Caroline to be his wife near a lake at the end of the trip.

A destination wedding was a great idea as Caroline is originally from Ireland with many family and friends still living abroad. Kenny has many friends and family from all over the states and much residing in California so spending a week along the Mexican blue waters was a perfect idea for this winter wedding. The couple agreed on a destination wedding in Mexico. But they didn't have time to go check out all of the venues in the area as there are so many. So they enlisted in the service of their fab wedding planner Kristee with FRESA WEDDINGS. She not only made their day come to life but helped with finding local and destination vendors to come in for their day. Caroline also had the help of her sweet mother-in-law, Cindy and they came up with many of the colourful design ideas that played so well with the venue's jungle setting.

This was a weekend their family and friends will never forget and even more meaningful as they joined two families from opposite sides of the world together. This wedding really showed that we are all as one and can come together with laughter, happy tears and many hugs.
