Carlie and Daniel’s love story began in the modern age—on a dating app—but from their very first date, it was clear their connection was something special. On one of the hottest days of the summer, they strolled through downtown Annapolis, bonding over boats, history, politics, and life. Daniel’s vast knowledge and cheesy jokes won Carlie over from day one, setting the stage for a love story that would soon take them from the city streets to the beaches of Puerto Rico, where Daniel proposed at sunset.
Their wedding day captured beautifully by MOLLY LICHTEN was a heartfelt celebration, blending timeless tradition with natural beauty. Carlie and her bridesmaids began the morning at her home, enjoying a relaxed and joyful start to the day with a homemade breakfast, matching pajamas, and a playlist curated by her sister. She found her dream wedding gown at Gambardella’s, the same boutique where her mother had chosen hers years before. After initially selecting one dress, she changed her mind the next day and ultimately chose a sleek gown with a plunging neckline, detachable bow, and delicate floral detailing—customized with the designer to perfectly suit her style.
Carlie and Daniel were married in the church she grew up attending, the same place where her parents and extended family had exchanged their vows. Faith is central to their relationship, and tying the knot in such a meaningful setting allowed them to begin their marriage on a foundation deeply rooted in tradition and love.

I knew when planning my wedding that I didn’t want it to feel too wintery despite the season. I wanted it to feel natural and effortless, as if we’d just gone picking wild flowers beforehand.

PHOTOGRAPHER’S THOUGHTS
Photographer MOLLY LICHTEN shares with us, “Carlie and Daniel’s February wedding at MT. WASHINGTON MILL DYE HOUSE in Baltimore defied the expectations for a typical winter celebration. As avid outdoors enthusiasts and passionate hikers, Carlie and Daniel wove their love for nature into the very fabric of their celebration, from Carlie’s snow white MARC FISHER boots to the beautiful fur stoles that she and her bridesmaids donned for photos to the personalized trail mix that guests took home at the end of the night as a memento of the occasion. The color scheme embraced the beauty of nature as well, employing warm earthy tones, lush greenery, and bursts of vibrant hues to create a palette that felt both invigorating and unconventional for the season. Using Mt. Washington Mill Dye House’s industrial charm as a backdrop, KATEY CLARK CREATIVE and STEEL CUT FLOWER CO. transformed the space into an elegant haven. A symphony of lighting elements, carefully curated to enhance every corner of the space, created an inviting, romantic atmosphere, and delicate cherry blossoms that hinted at the impending spring cascaded across the ceiling.”

Their wedding was a true testament to their love—a beautiful, deeply personal day filled with meaningful details, cherished family moments, and an atmosphere of pure joy.

THE RECEPTION
Following the ceremony, the couple made a heartfelt visit to Carlie’s grandfather, who had watched the ceremony via livestream. Sharing a toast with him before heading to the reception made for a cherished moment that underscored the importance of family on their special day.
Their reception at MT. WASHINGTON MILL DYE HOUSE was a breathtaking transformation of a historic venue, perfectly balancing its industrial character with elegant floral arrangements by STEEL CUT FLOWER CO. and thoughtful lighting. Carlie envisioned a natural, effortless aesthetic that would reflect their love for the outdoors, and the floral arrangements—featuring cherry blossoms in the rafters and loosely gathered blooms—brought that vision to life. The rich greenery and soft, organic colors created an atmosphere of warmth and romance.
music, food and other good things
Music was a significant part of the celebration, with a lively band ensuring the dance floor remained packed throughout the night. The couple curated a playlist that set the perfect mood for every moment, from sentimental ceremony selections to high-energy party anthems. The evening was a joyful blur of laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toast.
Food was another highlight of the night, with creative appetizers like goat cheese balls (a crowd favorite!) and perfectly executed entrées. Every detail, from the personalized calligraphy on their cocktail napkins to the impeccable service, made their reception a reflection of their love and personality.
After the wedding, Carlie and Daniel embarked on a honeymoon in St. Lucia, where they stayed in a private villa with stunning ocean views. Their trip was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, from lounging in their private pool to exploring an old volcano and navigating the island’s winding roads.
