Wow! That's the first word that comes to mind when scrolling down the goodness of these images by New Orleans wedding photographer ERIKA PARKER. Featuring absolutely exquisite gowns by EMILY RIGGS this Yucatan based shoot was beautifully and simply styled by BENJAMIN HOLTROP. Creative, fashion-forward make-up by ERIN SKIPLEY ensured this was a bridal look that would stop you in your tracks.

Erika tells us, "The Yucatan is a part of the world that invokes the imagination to think of Mayan culture, Spanish conquistadors, gold, eternal life, and everything mysterious and beautiful that goes along with that. There are Mayan ruins scattered all over the Yucatan, some easily accessible, and others a trek. Ek Baklam is one of the largest ruins, just outside the colonial city of Vallodolid. In the middle of the jungle, it is estimated to be over 2000 years old, and covers approximately 12km. Ek Baklam is the site of several temples, and is covered with artistic reliefs and drawings. It literally seems untouched by time.

I collaborated with this amazing team to create an editorial that would reflect the mystery of the region. The Spanish came to the Yucatan looking for gold. We chose a gown, separates and accessories that evoked the imagination to dream of ancient cities and ruins, and the possibility of what could be found there. We wanted to reflect the magic of the region ,and mystery in the jungle of places unexplored and a culture from the past."
