Sometimes wedding submissions come along that make you gasp and have you wishing you were on the guest list. Such was the case with this South African wedding by AUSTRIAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER Pia from PEACHES & MINT. Her photography is just sublime and this beautiful celebration really comes alive through her fine art approach.
It’s been said that only fools fall in love, and that could be said of Candice and Brett – if only in the sense that a chance meeting on April Fool’s Day was the start of their relationship! Then, a few years later, the couple found themselves in Paris on New Year’s Eve, where Brett surprised Candice on the Pont Passerelle Solf rino by writing his proposal on a traditional lovers’ lock. With so much romance in their past, it was only appropriate that they chose to kick off their future in another romantic location, this time the famously beautiful gardens of Babylonstoren, in South Africa. The venue provided inspiration in more ways than one – not only did all the florals come from the farm, but its connection to Delft pottery was reflected in the blue and white palette and Delft vases and linens on the tables. The final touch was a surprise white dessert installation, including Babylonstoren’s legendary carrot cake.
“Seeing Brett for the first time was incredible; my whole being lit up when I saw him and how handsome he looked! I was filled with such love, being around my perfect man in the perfect moment, in such a picturesque location with everyone we truly love.“
ééòMy eyes lit up when I saw my bouquet for the first time: a single large white King Protea. It has always been ‘our flower’. Meanwhile, giggles came from my bridesmaids when they discovered their lavender posies, each with a turnip picked from the farm in the centre. They had never seen anything like it!“
