When Lauren met Michael at college in Auburn, it wasn’t the most memorable introduction – in fact, neither of them remember it at all, although Lauren went on to become great friends with his sister, Cassie. Several years later, Lauren met Michael again at a friend’s wedding, and this time, the stars aligned. One high-energy trail run proposal later, the pair were planning their own wedding, and Cassie and Lauren went from friends to sisters. The couple chose to keep things simple, opting for a classic, neutral palette and focusing on personal details like a cake from Lauren’s favourite hometown bakery and an heirloom veil. Each contributed creatively too – Michael hand-drew sketches of the chapel and reception venues that were used in the programs and printed onto handkerchiefs as gifts for their mothers, and Lauren did the beautiful calligraphy. Post ceremony, the newlyweds drove themselves to the reception – a precious chance to spend some time together before the party began (a party so epic that Michael split his tux on the dancefloor!)
