Anastasiya and Christopher’s romance is truly an international one – the couple met when she spent a summer in the United States, were engaged on a perfect rainy night in Norway, and chose an ancient villa in the Roman hills for their timelessly elegant wedding. Loved ones from all over the world joined them for a night that stayed true to their rich Russian, Norwegian and American heritages, and included a number of fun traditions. Cries of ‘Sk l’, ‘Za Zdorovie’, ‘Cin-Cin’ and ‘Cheers’ echoed around the candlelit hall through heartfelt speeches, while guests alternately stamped their feet and clinked their glasses to demand the lovers kiss. Our ceremony took place in the Panini Gallery of the villa, decorated with gorgeous frescoes, and an abundance of candles and lush flowers by the ‘altar’. I sneaked into the gallery when the string quartet was warming up before the wedding and stood there in awe, watching the twilight gently filling the space and listening to my processional.”
