Coastal Elegance Meets Lowcountry Charm on Spring Island

A refined yet relaxed wedding weekend unfolded on Spring Island, where coastal beauty, thoughtful details, and a sense of effortless Southern charm created a celebration that felt both deeply personal & quietly elegant.

Caroline and Dustin’s wedding on Spring Island, South Carolina, was a beautiful reflection of place, perspective, and connection—brought to life with thoughtful planning by SINCERELY YOURS EVENTS, florals by JARDINIÈRE EVENTS, and captured with an artful softness by MADISON SAPP PHOTOGRAPHY.

A Modern Beginning

Their story began in New York City, where a simple dating app match led to an unexpectedly meaningful first date in the West Village. What was meant to be a quick drink turned into hours of conversation—an early glimpse of the ease and depth that would come to define their relationship.

A Quiet Proposal by the Water

After navigating a period of long distance between New York and Miami, their proposal felt entirely reflective of their shared rhythm. On a day that began with rain and uncertainty, the skies cleared just in time for sunset. As they arrived by boat at Elliott Key, Dustin proposed in a moment that felt calm, private, and unmistakably theirs—simple, intimate, and deeply meaningful.

A Place Close to the Heart

Spring Island held a natural significance. With Caroline’s parents living there, it had long been a place of retreat and connection—a setting layered with personal history. Choosing to host their wedding weekend there allowed them to share that sense of place with their closest friends and family, inviting guests into something that felt authentic rather than staged.

A Welcome Beneath the Trees

The weekend began with a beautifully relaxed welcome party set beneath a canopy of trees, where long tables were layered with soft linens and greenery that echoed the surrounding landscape. Guests gathered among the Spanish moss, drinks in hand, as golden light filtered through the branches.

It was the perfect introduction to the days ahead—unhurried, inviting, and grounded in nature. Thoughtful yet understated, the setting allowed conversation and connection to take centre stage, offering guests a true sense of the island’s charm from the very beginning.

Lowcountry Chic Design

Described by the couple as “Lowcountry chic,” the overall aesthetic balanced elegance with ease. The stationery, designed by ADDIE MCELWEE and sourced through a family connection, reflected this beautifully—classic with subtle coastal influences that set the tone for the weekend.

Florals by JARDINIÈRE EVENTS embraced the season, with abundant, colorful arrangements that felt organic and in harmony with the surrounding landscape. Guided by planner Emily, the design felt cohesive yet never overworked, allowing the natural beauty of Spring Island to lead.

A Meaningful Ceremony

The ceremony took place at St. Peter’s in Beaufort, a church deeply familiar to Caroline through family visits. Beginning their marriage in a place already woven into their lives added a sense of continuity and intention—grounding the celebration in something lasting.

Style with a Story

Caroline’s gown journey began in New York at MARK INGRAM ATELIER, where she found her dress almost immediately during a LELA ROSE trunk show. The “Holland” gown was the very first she tried on—and ultimately the one she returned to after exploring others, its effortless elegance perfectly suited to the weekend’s aesthetic.

An Evening of Celebration

The reception unfolded outdoors beneath a tent, where the atmosphere felt both refined and relaxed. Guests were encouraged to fully immerse themselves in the celebration, with time intentionally carved out for dancing—one of Caroline’s favorite parts of any wedding.

The energy was exactly as they had hoped: a full dance floor, joyful movement, and a shared sense of celebration that carried through the night. One especially meaningful moment came during the father-daughter dance, when the band performed a song so precisely it mirrored the original recording—an unexpected and emotional highlight.

A Weekend to Remember

From a nature-filled welcome party to a celebration rooted in connection, Caroline and Dustin’s wedding weekend was a true reflection of what mattered most to them. Guests were invited not only to witness their marriage, but to experience the place and pace of life they love so deeply.
