Arizona wedding photographer ELYSE HALL captured Sally & Dave’s wedding at the OMNI HOTEL in Scottsdale, Arizona. We’re big fans of the fresh green and white colour palette – it never goes out of style. Both bride and groom have family in the area and they got married in the school chapel where the groom attended making it all the more meaningful. For their wedding style they incorporated a lot of clean lines for an chic and elegant aesthetic. “We wanted the experience feel glamourous for our guests without feeling stuffy, and we included some fun holiday elements as a nod to the December season.“
HOW DID YOU MEET? We met through mutual friends during a summer weekend in the Hamptons.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: David proposed on a last minute weekend getaway to Laguna Beach, CA. A beautiful dinner followed the surprise proposal at The Montage’s Studio restaurant.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS: The dress was the first dress I tried on! I had a very distinct idea of the look I wanted, and the moment I tried it on, I knew it was me.
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY ELEMENTS? To add a touch of holiday spirit, gold ornaments were tied with custom ribbon (ribbon included the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date) and placed at each place setting.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: A clean palette of whites and greens. We used a lot of different kinds of palms as a nod to the area, and a variety of white flowers including white orchids which were used in centerpieces and bridal party bouquets and boutonnieres; the bride’s bouquet included white orchids and some white anthurium which lent an unexpected tropical note, the base of the bouquet was a large Monstera leaf.
FAVOURITE DETAIL OF THE DAY: We loved our cake, the beautiful gold foiling detail added a touch of holiday glamor to the otherwise simple design. And it was absolutely delicious!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? The day is really about the bride and groom, so make decisions that make you both happy and reflect your taste as a couple.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? The ceremony was very meaningful to us… to have everyone we love surround us as we said our vows was really amazing.
ANY OTHER DETAILS THAT HELP TELL THE STORY OF YOUR DAY? The Bride, who is the oldest of five, asked her youngest brother, 17-year-old Shafer Jones, to perform at the reception. He joined the Lucky Devils up on stage and sang Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to The Moon” as the bride danced with her father, the room was filled with so much love.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON: We left for our honeymoon the day after the wedding, and spent 8 days in French Polynesia. The first half we spent on the gorgeous island of Bora Bora at the St. Regis, and the second half we spent on the Island of Moorea.
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD CHANGE OR DO DIFFERENTLY? It was the most perfect day in our eyes.
