The ASIAN ART MUSEUM in the centre of San Francisco was a perfect fit for Carly & Garrett's wedding captured beautifully here by LARISSA CLEVELAND. With the brides love for all things neutral as well as the aesthetic of big open buildings (not overly common in California), it immediately ticked a couple of boxes. Being close to their home and where they first met was also another big tick. With its dramatic marble staircase; a big ballroom and the former card room of the SF Public Library, it was an impressive vision. To bring some warmth to the cold and majestic marble venue, they filled it with plenty of candlelight and white flowers with natural greenery. Working with JENNA LAM EVENTS they used candles to line the grand staircase and frame the aisle and altar, and the clear ghost chairs provided a clean and elegant backdrop for the guests.

The gorgeous bride tells us, "Garrett and I met at UC Berkeley the very day after my parents dropped me off in the dorms. I never expected to meet someone so fast, but we were inseparable from then on! We have been best friends for over eight years now and never stop laughing. After college, we did long-distance while I pursued my masters degree in Boston and a year after I returned, and six years after we met, he proposed to me while sitting on our patio with a champagne breakfast in Big Sur. We originally went there to celebrate his birthday but then left with something much bigger to celebrate!

Our wedding day was beyond perfect. I managed to keep my wedding dress a secret from everyone except my mom, godmother, and wedding planner so one of my favourite moments was finally doing the big reveal to my bridesmaids. I also will never forget the moment Garrett started saying his vows. He is usually a pretty even-keeled guy, but he got super choked up and eventually had the entire room crying. I honestly had a bit of trouble hearing him because my bridesmaids were crying so loudly! Finally, I had so much fun on the dance floor with my friends, family, and new husband. It also didn't hurt that someone kept bringing me ice cream sandwiches!

I bought both my rehearsal dinner and wedding dress at ROMONA KEVEZA. My shoes were blush YSL platform sandals, my earrings were vintage diamond earrings that I redesigned with our ring jeweller, and I carried a beautiful white hand beaded clutch."
