This concept of this beautiful coastal editorial shoot by WE ARE ORIGAMI was inspired by the lyrics of Cat Power’s song, Sea of Love. Paying homage to the natural beauty of the Australian seaside, it was part of a one-on-one workshop with BRUMLEY & WELLS.
Styled by one of our fabulous vendors SYDNEY BASED WEDDING FLORIST DOMINIQUE FLOWERS, it focuses on the dichotomy between the wildness of the rolling waves, rock formations, sheer cliffs and the gentler lull of the tide. The models head was adorned with a coral-esque crown made for a sea goddess to compliment the lace gown by THREE SUNBEAMS. A billowing veil, silken lingerie and jewelled sandals completed the look. Dominique says, “Beach combed shells, coral, soft seaweeds, hand calligraphy and a shimmering velvet ring box holding an antique aquamarine ring pulled everything together in perfect simplicity. The hair and makeup was created using luxe organic and natural makeup and hair products. The hair, soft beachy waves complimented the natural sea setting and allowed the hair to blow freely in the wind.“
This stunning cake by CAKE ARCADE was styled on a large vintage silver butlers tray surrounded by fresh sprigs of fresh flowers and pretty silk ribbons, evoking a subtle elegant seaside theme. “We created soft flowing blue ruffles for the bottom tier to suit a subdued beach inspired palette, bringing in a touch of elegance with an embossed gold lustred middle tier topped with a plain white top tier cascading with soft and ruffled sugar peonies, parrot tulips and hydrangea in fantasy blue watery tones.“
This beautiful aquamarine vintage ring from TRUMPET & HORN was the perfect addition to the coastal scene.
