When Tucson wedding photographer AS EVER PHOTOGRAPHY gets together with Utah wedding florist THE POTTED PANSY magic occurs! Seriously every collaboration they work on is a show-stopper. This utterly stunning bridal shoot at the Bonneville Salt Flats is the first feature from Issue 20 of MAGNOLIA ROUGE MAGAZINE, which is shipping out very soon! We just couldn't wait any longer to start showing you the beauty that's inside its pages!

Jenn from AS EVER PHOTOGRAPHY tells us, “I had been wanting to create this particular shoot at the Bonneville Salt Flats for a couple of years — pretty much since I moved to Utah and saw the flats for the first time. It was always in the back of my mind; I had the concept, a mood board, and even a custom-made gown, but it wasn’t until I had a friend coming to Utah who also wanted to shoot at the Salt Flats that I set into action and finally pulled this editorial together.

The colour palette comprised hues associated with different types of salt – pink, grey, and neutrals – to maintain an organic, earthy aesthetic. For the table setting, I chose stone plates, cement and gold candleholders, and vintage amber goblets with salt crystals and fragments of other minerals scattered about. Mandy Ogaz of THE POTTED PANSY selected Japanese Sweet Pea, Silver Brunia, dried Hydrangea, Quicksand Roses, Blushing Bride Proteas, Ranunculus, Lisianthus, and ‘Silver Cone’ Leucadendron to create a freeform arrangement that spilled over the edges of a primitive wooden bowl. KELSEY MALIE CALLIGRAPHY created a stark black on white paper suite, while minimalist rings in three different gold metals from engagement ring designer SUSIE SALTZMAN adorned our breathtaking bride.”

The timeless, classic makeup look and sophisticated low chignon created by TORI PLANT were the perfect complement to the clean look I was creating, and JENNIFER LISH wore it so beautifully! Finally, irregular shards of white chocolate on a two tiered white cake by FLOUR & FLOURISH were such an artful allusion to the shoot’s theme. I am completely in love with how this salt-inspired editorial came together, not only the elements I envisioned and sourced, but the way that each of the talented wedding artists interpreted my vision and created their own sublime works of art."
