A Timeless Spring Island Wedding with Elegant Details

Blair and Parker’s love story came full circle in a wedding that beautifully blended timeless elegance with personal touches. Captured by Ava Moore Photography, their Spring Island celebration featured sophisticated details, heartfelt moments, and a night of unforgettable joy.

Blair and Parker’s love story began in a true modern-meets-classic way—on a dating app in NYC during the summer of 2020. But fate had already intertwined their paths long before. Blair recognized Parker from high school in upstate New York, though he had no idea who she was at the time. Once they made the connection, their shared history and experiences made their relationship feel natural, leading them to a beautiful proposal and, ultimately, a wedding day filled with timeless elegance and personal touches which was captured by AVA MOORE PHOTOGRAPHY.

Parker proposed in a meaningful location—the High Line, where they had shared their very first date. On a sunny February afternoon, he led Blair on an extended walk through the city until they reached an observation deck overlooking 10th Avenue. As he asked her to look away, Blair turned back too soon, catching him fumbling in his pocket as he prepared to kneel. The moment clicked, and with the NYC skyline behind them and a crowd of onlookers cheering, Blair joyfully said yes.

“The morning of the wedding was calm yet exciting, with my bridesmaids and I getting ready at my parents’ house. Hair and make-up were in full swing early, and the conversations and music flowed throughout. As the day progressed, coffees transformed into mimosas, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. With so much organization happening throughout the day, I did my best to stay present, laugh, and enjoy each moment with my bridesmaid and family before time really started to fly. Meanwhile, the groomsmen gathered at another house on the island. They enjoyed a relaxed morning, sharing laughs and stories while watching college football. There was a bit of a struggle with putting on their tuxedos—turns out, bow ties and cufflinks can be quite the challenge! But amidst the laughter and camaraderie, they managed to pull it off, looking sharp and ready for the big day ahead.”

For their SPRING ISLAND wedding, Blair and Parker sought to create a sophisticated yet personal take on classic elegance. They embraced a refined aesthetic with formal attire, lush floral arrangements, and a color palette of deep, rich hues accented with crisp whites. Every detail was meticulously curated to reflect their vision, from the custom stationery to the elegant table settings, all with the expert guidance of their wedding planner SINCERELY YOURS EVENTS.

The lush greenery added a natural, fresh feel, while the vibrant fall colors brought warmth and depth to the decor. We were thrilled with how the florals turned out, adding a touch of sophistication and romance to our special day.

THE FASHION

My wedding gown was designed by NEWHITE, and it was the perfect combination of classic with a modern twist that I was looking for. I tried on a LOT of dresses, but I instantly loved this one with its organza overlay detail and perfect fit. My wedding shoes were from the trusted BADGLEY MISCHKA, featuring a block heel with crystal and faux pearl embellishments. Our wedding was black tie optional because we wanted it to feel extra special, and who doesn’t love dressing up? The bridesmaids wore emerald green dresses from REVELRY in a variety of styles, and my bridesman rented a tux with an emerald green bow tie to match.

To his credit, the groom invested in the details too! On Friday night, he wore a navy suit with a custom monogram as an homage to the wedding date, and a sterling silver lapel pin that he had made for the soon-to-be new Armsbys, which matched a collar pin he wore as a throwback to an earlier era. On Saturday, he sported two looks from ENZO CUSTOM in NYC. The first was a white tux jacket for the ceremony, with black shawl lapels and details, paired with black pants and an emerald green cummerbund. The second was a velvet emerald green tux jacket that he changed into for the reception, to tie into the color theme through the night. He really went all out—I guess he’s been hiding his fashionista side! I guess he figured if he was going to be outshined by my dress, he might as well look his best.

THE FIRST LOOk

Choosing to forgo a first look, Blair and Parker saw each other for the first time as she walked down the aisle, a decision that heightened the anticipation and made the moment even more meaningful. Surrounded by family and friends, they exchanged vows and stepped into the next chapter of their lives together.

THE RECEPTION

The celebration continued under a grand white tent on the golf house lawn. Tables were adorned with refined linens and breathtaking floral centerpieces, creating an atmosphere of warmth and elegance. A striking black-and-white dance floor became the heart of the reception, where guests danced the night away. A playful photo booth added an element of fun, capturing joyful moments and giving guests keepsakes to remember the evening.

Blair and Parker’s wedding was the perfect blend of tradition, romance, and modern elegance, leaving them with cherished memories of a day that truly reflected their love.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER SAID…

AVA MOORE PHOTOGRAPHY shares with us, “Some weddings just blow us away, and that was the case with Blair and Parker’s Spring Island wedding in Okatie, South Carolina! There is just something special about Spring Island. It feels other worldly with its natural beauty, and makes a person feel like they have escaped the hustle and bustle in a far away place. Blair and Parker’s energy, chemistry, and love was a joy to witness! One of the highlights of the day was seeing them be driven away from the ceremony in a beautiful white silver cloud Rolls Royce. The team at Sincerely Yours Events created an amazing design and brought it to life for this sweet couple. Blair and Parker wanted a traditional fall wedding with a dark emerald green and navy color palette. Florals prepared by Jardiniere Events were primarily white with touches of navy, eggplant, and light mauve. The luxury linens and gorgeous floral centerpieces housed inside the sailcloth tent were absolutely stunning. Bridesmaids wore dark emerald dresses, while the men wore black tuxes.  Parker wore a white jacket for the ceremony and a dark emerald green jacket for the reception. It was clear that everyone had an amazing evening dancing away with Will and the Exclamation. From start to finish, it was truly a day to remember! “

THE FLORALS

Our floral arrangements by JARDINIERE EVENTS were a beautiful blend of greenery with white flowers, accented by pops of rich fall colors like navy, deep purple, mauve, and more. The combination created a stunning, elegant look that perfectly complemented our wedding theme, and yet felt somewhat unique, which was important to us. The lush greenery added a natural, fresh feel, while the vibrant fall colors brought warmth and depth to the decor. We were thrilled with how the florals turned out, adding a touch of sophistication and romance to our special day.

THE COCKTAIL HOUR

Our cocktail hour was beautifully set next to the historic Spring Island ruins and the 9th hole on the golf course. Two oak bars anchored either side of the open lawn, creating a welcoming space that overlooked the serene marsh. Guests mingled and enjoyed the stunning views while savoring passed hors d’oeuvres and selections from the raw bar tables. The combination of the fully open air and picturesque setting with the delicious food and drink made for a perfect start to our celebration, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

THE ENTERTAINMENT

We had the incredible WILL & THE EXCLAMATION as our live band for the evening, all the way from Atlanta, Georgia. Their talent and energy were unmatched, keeping everyone on the dance floor all night long! From the first song to the last, they brought an infectious energy that had guests of all ages dancing and singing along. Their diverse repertoire and engaging performance style made the night unforgettable.

We are so grateful for them, as they were truly incredible. At our request, they even learned a special song. Toward the end of the night, they surprised us by calling us to the stage for a karaoke rendition of “Mr. Brightside.” It was an amazing moment that truly made us feel like rockstars. The dance floor was never empty, and the joy and excitement they brought to our celebration were the highlight of the evening.

THE HONEYMOON

Following our wedding weekend, we traveled to Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort, on Saint Lucia, for a much-needed place to relax and unwind. Neither of us had ever been to the island before, but we had heard incredible things about it. The resort was everything we hoped for and more. We spent our days lounging on the pristine beaches, soaking up the sun, taking in the breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and Piton peaks that bookend the resort, and making a few new friends along the way.
