A Timeless Cavallo Point Wedding with Breathtaking Bay Area Views

Kendra and Matt’s Cavallo Point wedding was a breathtaking celebration of love, connection, and destiny. With stunning Bay Area views, heartfelt moments, and elegant details, their day was as meaningful as it was beautiful.

Kendra and Matt’s love story is intrinsically tied to the landscapes of the Bay Area, making CAVALLO POINT—the historic lodge nestled at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge—the perfect setting for the beginning of their next chapter. This iconic bridge was more than just a backdrop; it was a symbol of their journey. Kendra lived in Sausalito, while Matt resided in San Francisco. For years, Matt unknowingly cycled past Kendra’s apartment, their lives paralleling without ever intersecting. It wasn’t until an online connection finally brought them together that fate took its course, and once they crossed that bridge, there was no turning back.

Their wedding day captured by THE GANEYS was a true reflection of their love—effortless, deeply meaningful, and filled with personal touches that spoke to the heart of their relationship. The morning began with quiet anticipation as Kendra prepared for the day alongside her bridesmaids. She chose a gown that was both timeless and modern, featuring delicate lace details and an ethereal silhouette that moved with the coastal breeze. Meanwhile, Matt, surrounded by his groomsmen, fastened his cufflinks and took a deep breath, knowing he was about to see the love of his life.

An Emotional First Look

One of the most unforgettable moments of the day was the couple’s first look. Set against the serene beauty of Cavallo Point, Matt waited with eager anticipation. As he turned to see Kendra glowing in the soft afternoon light, his breath caught, and emotion overtook him. Tears sprang to his eyes as he took in the sight of his bride, radiant and angelic. In that moment, time stood still. They held each other close, savoring the quiet intimacy before the whirlwind of the day began. “She looked like an angel,” Matt later shared, a sentiment that perfectly captured the magic of that exchange.

Emily from THE GANEYS shares with us, “On the wedding day, Kendra got ready in the historic Frank House, where a playful twist of fate saw her dress locked inside a room. Cavallo Point’s team sprang into action, climbing ladders to ensure the bride could walk down the aisle. And what a vision she was: Kendra’s bridal look unique – a lace romper with full sleeves and an open back, paired with a flowing silk skirt that danced with the breeze, occasionally revealing those delicate lace details.

The ceremony unfolded on the Mission Blue Lawn, with panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge – a perfect backdrop for vows exchanged in front of family and friends. The sun peeked out on this perfect day! The bridesmaids stood to the side in soft seafoam green dresses. They carried petite bouquets filled with roses, astrancia, chamomile, ranunculus, dahlia, hellebores, and sweetpeas. Though Kendra’s beloved grandparents couldn’t attend, their recorded message of “These Hands” brought tears and a sense of profound connection. After saying “I do,” Kendra and Matt FaceTimed them, ensuring they were part of the joy.

The reception was a reflection of the couple’s warmth and creativity. Guests found their seats through an escort display of Maker’s Wine custom cans – a nod to the company Kendra founded. Under a canopy of hanging florals, heartfelt toasts filled the room, including a flawless, unscripted speech by Kendra’s sister. The dance floor was alive with lifts and twirls, starting with an unforgettable first dance. Later, Kendra slipped into a playful scalloped mini-dress, embodying the free spirit that Matt fell in love with. That evening, guests enjoyed piping hot Lou’s Malnati’s Chicago pizza – one of Kendra’s favorites.”

A Ceremony with a View

The ceremony took place on the Mission Blue Lawn, a picturesque setting with panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge stretching across the horizon. Bridesmaids in flowing seafoam green dresses lined the aisle, carrying petite bouquets brimming with roses, astrantia, chamomile, ranunculus, dahlias, hellebores, and sweetpeas—each delicate bloom adding to the romance of the scene.

Though Kendra’s beloved grandparents couldn’t attend in person, their presence was deeply felt. A heartfelt recorded message of These Hands played during the ceremony, bringing tears to many eyes and a profound sense of connection. The moment served as a beautiful reminder that love transcends distance. Immediately after exchanging vows and sealing them with a kiss, Kendra and Matt made a special call to their grandparents via FaceTime, ensuring they were part of the joy in real-time.
