A Refined Garden Dream Unfolds at Norrvikens Trädgårdar

Set against Sweden’s lush coastal landscape and artfully documented by 2 BRIDES PHOTOGRAPHY, Simon and Aura’s wedding unfolded as a deeply intentional celebration shaped by THE WILD ROSE, whose thoughtful approach to planning, styling, and florals brought the couple’s vision to life. Though they came from entirely different worlds, their meeting felt like fate — a quiet recognition that surfaced immediately. For Aura, it was the first time she truly felt seen and understood; for Simon, it was love at first encounter. Despite their differences, they discovered a shared emotional language rooted in safety, understanding, and deep alignment — laying the foundation for a love that felt both grounding and expansive.

Simon’s proposal was thoughtfully orchestrated with a sense of surprise and romance. While Aura was certain he would propose during an upcoming trip to Paris — the first city they had visited together — Simon instead planned a weekend escape to Venice in May 2023. As they glided through the canals in a gondola, champagne waiting and a rare necklace in hand, Simon got down on one knee. The quiet intimacy of the moment, set against Venice’s timeless beauty, made it unforgettable.

Aura had always envisioned marrying in a flower garden — an image she had carried with her since childhood. After searching across Denmark, Italy, and France, the couple found everything they were looking for at NORRVIKENS TRÄDGÅRDAR in Sweden. Nestled between sea, cliffs, and forest, the flower park offered a rare balance of elegance and natural ease. The fairytale gardens, paired with the Victorian greenhouse and glass-walled reception spaces, created a setting that felt both romantic and reassuring — beautiful in any weather and rich with atmosphere.

The wedding day began quietly, with Simon and Aura sharing breakfast together in the library of Villa Abelin before parting ways to prepare. Aura chose a serene, private morning, joined by only two bridesmaids when it was time to step into her gown. A deeply emotional first look followed with her daughter and mother — a true princess moment filled with tenderness. Simon spent the morning with his groomsmen, enjoying lunch in the sunshine and soaking in the joy of the day ahead.

Both Simon and Aura traveled to London to select their wedding attire, choosing pieces that felt timeless and impeccably tailored. Simon wore a bespoke three-piece suit from GIEVES & HAWKES on Savile Row, while Aura chose a breathtaking gown by GALIA LAHAV from Browns Bride — a silhouette that felt both modern and ethereal, perfectly suited to the garden setting.

Flowers played a central role in shaping the atmosphere of the day. Designed by THE WILD ROSE, the florals were layered in soft shades of cream, blue, green, pink, and peach, striking a balance between classic romance and modern artistry. Arrangements were composed in distinct clusters to echo a natural garden rhythm, while blue hydrangeas and white dahlias subtly referenced the water lily motif woven throughout the design. A dramatic floral installation beneath a grand tree became the focal point of the ceremony — grounding the space in beauty and intention.

Inspired by Norrviken’s water lily ponds, the stationery suite became an extension of the landscape itself. Designed by ELINS ART STUDIO, the custom folio featured an illustration of the venue’s Victorian greenhouse, opening to reveal a painterly pond scene. Cut-out water lilies held the detail cards, while off-white ovals echoed throughout the paper goods.
On the day itself, the concept came to life through an oil-painted pond seating chart, water lily–shaped escort cards, and a custom-designed bar — all transforming functional elements into immersive works of art.

Held beneath a grand tree in Österländska Terrassen, the ceremony felt nothing short of magical. With live music setting the tone, Simon and Aura exchanged vows and revealed deeply personal marriage symbols — tattoos created earlier that summer — choosing a meaningful alternative to traditional rings. The sunshine, music, and emotional intimacy made the moment feel suspended in time, yet fleeting in the most beautiful way.

Guests gathered in Viktoriahuset, Norrviken’s Victorian greenhouse, for cocktail hour accompanied by live jazz. Styled with water lily motifs and surrounded by gardens in full bloom, the atmosphere felt effortlessly elevated. Guests were encouraged to dress within the wedding’s soft color palette, adding to the visual harmony of the space while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and exploring the grounds.

Dinner unfolded in Restaurant Orangeriet, where guests were welcomed by a striking water lily–inspired seating display. A refined three-course meal was served alongside French wines, encouraging slow conversation and connection. Speeches brought laughter and emotion in equal measure, while the evening concluded with a uniquely layered wedding cake and the promise of celebration ahead.

Music shaped the emotional arc of the day, from the ceremony performances by STOCKHOLM MONROES to the high-energy after-party. Their first dance transitioned seamlessly into an unexpected “Macarena,” igniting the dance floor as confetti, sparklers, and cannons filled the space. It was a celebration marked by joy, freedom, and shared exhilaration.

Following the wedding, Simon and Aura retreated to a charming village in the UK — a peaceful contrast to the vibrancy of their celebration. Days were spent reading, enjoying spa treatments, dining well, and exploring nearby towns — the perfect way to rest, reflect, and begin their next chapter together.
