Grace and Henry’s wedding at the historic WHITBY CASTLE in Rye, NY, was a celebration of timeless love and classic style with an edge. The couple, high school sweethearts who endured years of long distance due to college and career pursuits, crafted a wedding that honored their journey. Having shared over 12 years of milestones, their day was a heartfelt celebration of growth, friendship, and enduring love.
A special highlight of the day was the couple’s ceremony getaway in Henry’s family’s refurbished 1967 VW Beetle. Decorated with flowers and a “Just Married” sign, the car held sentimental value, having been part of many date nights throughout their relationship.
We chose this location because it felt like the perfect mix of our two families – something that was really important to us as this day represented a coming together of those two families.
THE GOWN
The bride’s search for the perfect gown ended at A LITTLE SOMETHING WHITE in Darien, CT, where she found a dress that matched her desire for “classic with an edge.” Paired with a bouquet of long-stemmed white roses, her look radiated simplicity and sophistication. A sparkly mini dress for the reception added an unexpected twist, eliciting an unforgettable reaction from the groom.
The ceremony was always the most important aspect of our wedding. It was the true beginning of starting our lives together and really set the tone for the rest of the evening.
We felt so present the entire day & grateful that our friends & family were there to witness the beginning of this exciting new chapter.
