Sofia and James’s story began thanks to a mutual friend who spotted James walking his dog in her neighborhood and encouraged Sofia to reach out. Though hesitant at first, Sofia eventually followed James on Instagram. A casual reaction to his golf story sparked a conversation in his DMs, and the two instantly connected. From that moment, their relationship flowed with an ease that felt destined.
We wanted to have a private moment together before the ceremony, right in the same spot where we got engaged. It was so meaningful to share that time alone and helped calm our nerves before the rest of the day unfolded.
The Proposal
James orchestrated a proposal that was both thoughtful and deeply personal. Disguised as a family photoshoot at Carillon Beach, he led Sofia to the promenade where, instead of his family waiting, he dropped to one knee. Sofia’s family rented the home right next to the chapel, which became the perfect gathering place for her bridesmaids and family. It quickly turned into a weekend-long slumber party filled with laughter, late-night karaoke, and heartfelt moments. On the morning of the wedding, her dad even cooked breakfast for everyone before the early 5am hair and makeup call, setting a joyful tone for the day ahead.

Guests enjoyed a delightful “champagne stroll” after the ceremony, leading them into a lively cocktail hour. Sofia and James added personal touches with signature drinks—Moscow Mules served in copper mugs and Old Fashioneds with custom monogrammed ice cubes. Creative hors d’oeuvres, from mini grilled cheese with tomato bisque shooters to duck and Gruyère quesadillas, delighted guests from the start.

The reception unfolded under a stunning sailcloth tent, transformed into a romantic wonderland with draped fabrics, soft pink and white accents, and unique seating areas that encouraged mingling.
