Having spent a lot of time in Lowcountry during their courtship Lauren & JB wanted to share the beautiful marsh landscape they loved so much and celebrate their guests in a relaxed outdoor space that honored their relationship. Mingo Point was the perfect location! The landmark crane bird featured in the invitation to the wedding and then later in the linens at cocktail hour tying it all in to the local area. Captured by South Carolina wedding photographer ELIZABETH LANIER, the marsh landscape was a continuous graphic throughout the weekend which kicked off with a welcome party on the Friday night. "We incorporated natural grasses, ferns, strawflower, and organic blooms mixed in with potted plants on the dinner tables. We used seagrass wrapped trays and sand to display the escort cards that helped guests find their table for dinner. Guests dined on Lowcountry barbeque with folk bluegrass music as the sunset."
"For the wedding itself, we wanted to keep the color palette more neutral and green, bringing out the deep plum of the changing grasses at River Course. Starting with the ceremony under the oak tree, we wanted this space to feel very romantic and magical. The lush flowers felt like they were growing up from the ground naturally and the light wood chairs perfectly complemented the organic feel of the ceremony. We carried over the olive green tones in the linens, bar from CURATED EVENTS, and pillows on the lounge furniture on the back lawn for cocktail hour until dinner & dancing in the ballroom."
Their wedding cake was wrapped in lush plum and ivory flowers and Murray, their beloved Bernese pup, was carried around by guests on the cocktail napkins with their signature cocktail, a spicy margarita. They completed the night with a private dance after guests left the ballroom and a confetti send off!
