Inspired by bride Louisa's Brazilian roots and the Gucci Garden, the colorful design introduced a vibrant look at the reception. Leopard water glasses, monochromatic flower arrangements, green lacquer tables, and the embroidered napkins were a fun twist on the traditional southern weddings you see at PALMETTO BLUFF. After spending a holiday there, Louisa and Zander knew it would make the perfect weekend getaway for their destination wedding. The couple was originally planning a large Santa Barbara, California wedding, but this felt more intimate, relaxing, and more ‘them’. Guests arrived on Wednesday and spent the week relaxing on property before the big welcome party at Riverhouse to kick off the weekend!
Captured by South Carolina wedding photographer ELIZABETH LANIER, the wedding tent was filled with the most gorgeous pink and orange florals by AUGUST DESIGN. The head table was a stunning green lacquered tabletop (this was Lousia's mother Clea's idea!) and had a mix of pink and orange florals whereas the surrounding guest tables were dressed with a luxe white STRADLEY DAVIDSON linen and either pink or orange flowers. This really allowed the focal point to be on Lousia and Zander and their bridal party. Some other design elements that really made this wedding unique was the fun tortoise shell glasses that Emerson James sourced for us & the monogrammed linen napkins at every guest seat! Oh & I can't forget the alligator escort cards by Julie King that really set the tone upon entry for a fun playful summer wedding in the Lowcountry!
Wedding planner MARILYN MAHALEY shares with us, "Lousia and Zander's wedding was the perfect summer color palette. The idea for the wedding day was a sort of "color progression" ; the wedding ceremony started with a more ethereal white color palette with a lush floral arch perfectly framing the wedding of the Somerset Chapel. Next, the guests were escorted by trolley to the next phase in the color progression – Cocktail Hour. Cocktail Hour featured a really fresh and cool chartreuse green gearing the guest up for the main event."
