Italy….the name itself evokes a sense of romance, who wouldn’t want to get married here! This shoot, photographed by USHNA KHAN, was all about combining the glory of Indian weddings with the historic charm of Tuscan Villas.
Bridal stylist, BRIDELAN INDIA, curated the looks for the couple, with bridal lehenga from ANAMIKA KHANNA, and groom’s attire from ADVANI LONDON. Pairing it very well with the backdrop of VILLA MONSOGLIO. The hand embroidered bridal lehenga (dress), brings to life the faded frescoed walls of the Villa, once painted by Atanasio Bimbacci in the late 1600s. The Villa is nestled in the beautiful countryside of Arezzo, where time seems to go at a slower pace, and you almost feel as though you’re living in an entirely different century.
Ushna shares her thoughts with us, “I wanted to push against the boundaries of South Asian Weddings, avoiding the usual red attire, and working towards a more understated palette while maintaining the drama. This Italian villa was nothing short of dreamy, so many corners, with so many visual narratives to be told. I had to make sure to move quickly to photograph the entire story, as the winter sun was almost setting. What I loved was the reaction of everyone present at the shoot, they were all in awe of how beautiful the two cultures looked together, which showed that you don't have to be an Indian or Pakistani bride to appreciate the idea of this shoot. CHERIE SPISSO, did an amazing job at creating a polished indian bridal look that had a softness and femininity which will surpass trends.
Coordinated by EVENTI GAIA WEDDINGS, the shoot was pulled together seamlessly with florist DEEP FLOWERS from Milan. Timeless roses in antique hues intertwining with Pampas grass created a floral scheme seldom seen in Indian weddings.
