When photographer ROMINA SCHISCHKE shared her ideas for this editorial with stylist FEDERICA BENI and conveyed how she wanted the finished product to look, Federica began to create concepts and mood boards to share with her. "I looked around and I realised that Le Marche, the region where I am based, could offer so many beautiful spots for this project. The choice of Il CASALE DEL DUCA—on the fringes of the beautiful city of Urbino—as a location for this romantic getaway was not by chance since I'd had the opportunity to visit it previously and was impressed by the neutral shades of the indoor and outdoor spaces, the simplicity of the landscape and the large number of cues to be able to play with texture, of which I am extremely fond."
The idea of reproducing a romantic getaway was borne from Federica's passion for elopements and intimate weddings which she feels can create a special and unique relationship between the couple and their guests who have travelled to celebrate with them. They selected two designs from TATYANA MERENYUK, both with stunning embroidery on the back which were perfectly complemented by shoes from bridal shoe designer BELLA BELLE SHOES and the bridal accessories that came from Australian company LA BELLE THE LABEL. Federica says, "Our model—so delicate in her movements—looked a true picture of beauty thanks to one of the most talented Italian make-up artists, MANOLA SPAZIANI."
"We envisioned the floral arrangements to be very organic and wild, with touches of blue in the berries to tie in with the colour palette. DARIO BENVENUTI FLORALS created the most amazing bouquet and centerpiece, beautifully overflowing and perfectly matching with the overall environment. The hard and enthusiastic work of the entire team created pure magic, ending a marvellous day spent in the beautiful Le Marche region of the Italian countryside.
I have a passion for details and I am particular about details matching, which can include shades, textures, styles of gowns, accessories, table setting, props and, as I always do for each one of my projects, wedding or editorial, I started this careful research which usually takes me several weeks but allows me to create the most beautiful patterns and moodboards where nothing is left to chance and everything creates a balanced picture.
The idea was to create a very romantic setting, giving the idea of a family retreat, just the intimate family and friends and a couple in love. The neutral shades we picked up, light grey and dusty blue, were just the perfect ones to give an ethereal vision of the overall work, so paper goods (the creation of Flourish Calligraphy), ribbons, ring boxes, glasses and runners helped us to recreate this vision."
This shoot features in Issue 19 of MAGNOLIA ROUGE MAGAZINE.
