When it comes to her craft, Texas wedding photographer EMILIE ANNE PHOTOGRAPHY is quite the storyteller. "In order to tell your story I want to be more than just your photographer. I strive to understand you, earn trust and respect, and convey your strengths by building a friendship based on serving and communication." When we asked Emilie what she loved most about weddings she told us, "I love being able to capture all of the excitement that happens on a wedding day, from the moment my couples first see each other to dancing the night away with their friends and family." We're delighted to have Emilie as a part of the Magnolia Rouge Vendor Guide.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A PHOTOGRAPHER? I had a camera in my hands as long as I can remember: from basic disposable cameras to my first digital camera in middle school. My interest in photography grew to become a career when I attended college and learned the basics of composition. It means so much to be able to bless others with a talent that I have been given, the skills I have honed, and the great friendships I have made along the way. To me there is no greater joy than seeing the light and delight in others eyes when they view my work!

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR PATH TO GET THERE. Photography for me is a constant work in progress and the journey has certainly be rewarding. I am humbled when I look back to 2010, the year I started my business. When I started I had no idea what I was doing but my family and husband (then, boyfriend) continued to encourage me. I started slowly with simple portraits for friends and family until, in 2012, my friend asked me to photograph her wedding. I agreed despite my nerves and I am so thankful for that opportunity, now I could not imagine doing anything else!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WEDDINGS? I love being able to capture all of the excitement that happens on a wedding day, from the moment my couples first see each other to dancing the night away with their friends and family.

SHARE YOUR FAVOURITE IMAGE WITH US AND TELL US WHY. I would have to say this photo taken at San Francisco City Hall is one of my favourites. It was one of my first shoots planned out of state and everything came together seamlessly. The morning started off foggy (like most day do in San Fran) so I was nervous about the light inside but moments before we started shooting the sun came out and light poured through the windows.

ASIDE FROM FAMILY & FRIENDS, THREE THINGS YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT? My dogs – they are the light of my life and bring so much joy. My camera – it goes everywhere with me because the world looks so much better through it. Coffee – my day starts and ends with coffee

WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU ON A SUNDAY MORNING? Sunday’s are spent with the family, going to church and then grabbing lunch together.

HOW WOULD YOU SPEND YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF? Exploring somewhere new, whether it is a new coffee shop or a new city.
