Queensland Wedding Photographer FINCH & OAK loves to be a part of your big day. “Photographing ridiculously happy people in amazing locations is the best thing ever. I don’t believe that couples should get pushed around and told how to pose just to get photos just like everyone else, I want to tell your unique story, and show your real love. I aim to capture genuine emotion and stories as they happen.” We’re totally on board with this perspective and having someone like Paul alongside you will ensure you get all your special memories captured in the best way – I mean just look at how gorgeous these images are? Head to his portfolio in our VENDOR GUIDE to see more.
WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER? My dad is a family photographer, and I grew up in his studio. I really didn’t want a ‘normal’ job, I love the idea of working for myself, and doing something I genuinely love doing everyday is a true blessing.
TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR PATH TO GET THERE: I would often steal dad’s cameras and photograph anything I could. When I was 16 a couple that knew me though some friends asked me to photograph their wedding, looking back at this I can’t believe they trusted me with that, but at the time I was super excited. It went better than expected and people kept asking me to take their photo.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE? Somewhere between fine art and documentary, or both throughout the day. There’s a fine line between images feeling too posed and images being messy.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WEDDINGS? Traveling and meeting all sorts of different people. Being welcomed into my clients family like we’ve been best friends for years is pretty cool.
WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU ON A SUNDAY MORNING? At a cafe having breakfast with my Chloe (my wife).
