It’s capturing the quiet moments, the lively moments, and everything in between that draws southern California wedding photographer CZAR GOSS to his vocation. Specialising in weddings and editorials, his passion and talent for photography have taken him to destinations around the world.
“The communication that takes place with the look of an eye or the caress of a hand, the power of the written and spoken word, the locations and details that couples carefully curate as part of their wedding day. It’s all captured artistically and with meticulous intent.” Czar truly enjoys being able to witness such special occasions and photograph them for others to remember for years to come and looking at these images reassures us that he has a lot of very happy clients out there!
We’re delighted to have him be a part of the MAGNOLIA ROUGE VENDOR GUIDE. Head over to his profile to find out more about him.
WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER? There is so much to love about being a wedding photographer. From the beautiful details couples choose as part of their big day to the love, joy and friendship that is shared throughout the day. Romantic first looks. Sentimental vows. Emotional speeches and hilarious dance moves. I love it all, and I’m privileged to get to experience it time and time again as well as capture it for others to appreciate for years to come.
TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR PATH TO GET THERE: The support I’ve received from my wife, family and friends has been incredible. I’ve been fortunate to create friendships in this industry that have inspired me, encouraged me, helped me to grow as a person and as a business and take me to destinations I never thought I’d visit. To all of these people I am forever grateful.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE? I like to think my personality comes through in my images. They are quiet, most of all, but also intimate, romantic and intentional.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WEDDINGS? It must be the artistic introvert in me, but I could spend eternity styling and photographing details such as paper suites, florals, shoes and rings. It’s my favourite part of the day.
SHARE YOUR FAVOURITE IMAGE WITH US AND TELL US WHY: This photograph below of Emily is one of my favourite images I’ve made. It is quiet, real, innocent, romantic, full of wonder and timeless. Everything I want my images to be.
CAN YOU RECALL YOUR FAVOURITE WEDDING EXPERIENCE? I’m gong to cheat and use my own wedding here. I married my wife on a mildly windy day in a field. The unity candles wouldn’t stay lit, and so our bridal party came over and formed a circle around us to keep the flames going. Being physically surrounded by these people was an overwhelmingly special feeling and it was symbolic of the support we have received – and will continue to receive – throughout our relationship. (Sidenote: lighting fires in open fields not recommended)
ASIDE FROM FAMILY & FRIENDS, THREE THINGS YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT? Chocolate Cake x 3.
WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU ON A SUNDAY MORNING? Sleeping in with my wife and son, then enjoying a breakfast of waffles and fresh fruit with 70’s soul music playing all morning.
HOW WOULD YOU SPEND YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF? Exploring, with my lovely wife and beautiful baby boy. The best part of living in sunny Southern California is the close proximity to so many different types of terrain – and we love getting outside. It’s easy to drive an hour in any direction and get lost in the city (LA), relax on the beach, snowboard in the mountains or hike in the desert.
Aren’t these images just the prettest? If you’re getting married in southern California – or want to take him along with you for your destination wedding – we strongly suggest you check out CZAR GOSS’S portfolio.
