I was honoured to guest post over on The Perfect Palette a couple of weeks ago with the Blushing Beauty inspiration board. I love these soft romantic tones for a wedding, it’s such a timeless look.

Ok I admit it… I had to pull the hubby in to name this board and Blue Danube is what he came up with! It’s a stretch I know but he was rather proud of himself so I had to go with it!! Inspired by the gorgeous image of the bike against the cornflower blue building, I think it works so well with soft blush or peach tones. So so pretty!!
My goodness yesterday was a bit of a shock to the system… I sat at my desk wrapped up in a blanket, a heated wheat pack keeping me warm, thick socks, gloves and I was still cold. Ok seriously it’s not THAT cold but it feels like it’s gone from summer to winter overnight. Brrrr! I love rugging up and heading out on a lovely winters day but it’s not a lot of fun being cold inside your house… and I’m reluctant to bring out the heaters just yet! How I yearn for the good ol’ days living in the UK when the heating came on an hour before you woke up and the house was always toasty!! Anyhoo enough of the weather… I’m in LOVE with the colours in this board, punchy plums with the softest of peach tones makes for the prettiest combination don’t you think?
Despite the unseasonably warm temperatures we continue to experience around here, summer is all but over although I’m sure many of you are starting to think about weddings for next summer. If you’re after a relaxed, informal wedding then you really can’t go wrong with a day at the beach surrounded by all your nearest and dearest! I love that you can use lots of nature and texture. Incorporate lots of drift wood and natural elements into your decor.

I’ve had a rough couple of days with a hideous tummy bug and I’m finally feeling more human again – thanks for all of your lovely get well messages on facebook! I don’t get sick often and usually I can at least sit in bed and work on my laptop a bit, but this had me seriously down and out. Anyway if like me you need a bit of cheering up, hopefully these bright colours will help!
