Whilst you don’t see a lot of red weddings around these parts, if there’s anytime to ‘break the rules’ it’s Christmas time and what could be more appropriate than this beautiful rich colour infused Texas wedding from LEAH GOLTER. Wanting a fusion of rustic and glam incorporating beautiful deep colours, Taylor & Cameron’s wedding held at THE WHITE SPARROW BARN in Quinlan, Texas was full of beautiful heartfelt moments and well thought out details. SOUTHERN WOODS FLORAL adorned the hall with flowing garlands, full with pomegranates and king proteas providing a pop of colour against the greenery. Round tables surrounded the room as their guests dined with the newly married couple. The tables were decorated with winter inspired floral arrangements and gold accents. Wearing a flowy, sweetheart neckline gown from WATTERS for the ceremony, Taylor chose to wear a more fitted trumpet silhouette gown for the reception. All in all it’s a beautiful Christmas celebration to behold!
HOW DID YOU MEET? We met through mutual friends who were dating. We dated long distance for a while and then finally made it official after a few months of dating.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: Our proposal was very special. Cameron planned it all out and was so organised and detailed. He proposed on a family beach trip with roses, hand made surf boards, and all of our family and friends around.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS: Finding my wedding dress was a mixture of fun and surprise. I thought I knew what I wanted but when I started trying dresses on that all changed. I had two dresses, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. My ceremony dress was one that I changed a lot on but ended up loving it. It was such a fun process to add and take away to make it exactly what I wanted.
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY ELEMENTS? No, nothing we made on our own. But our mantel was hand made and turned out exactly as I had hoped.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: I couldn’t have chosen better wedding flowers if I had tried! Our florist seriously chose some of the most gorgeous and unique flowers. They were elegant, earthy, and so different than anything I had seen. So many of our guests complemented how unique our flowers were!
FAVOURITE DETAIL OF THE DAY: I think I would have to say the mantle we used as our altar was my favourite detail. It took a lot of time, research, and planning to find someone to make this for me and it was something I had envisioned since before we got engaged, so being able to have it on our special day was amazing!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Make your wedding YOUR wedding. It’s so easy to get caught up in all the details of Pinterest and other people’s weddings. A rule I used was this, limit yourself to three or four choices for each category and then make your choices. If you keep looking even after you’ve chosen things, you’ll constantly be second guessing yourself. Stay true to your style and beliefs and everything will turn out beautifully.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? I think our most memorable moment was our first look. It was very special and something I’m so glad we did. It gave us the chance to talk before walking down the aisle, comfort each other from all the nerves, and just spend a few minutes together.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON: Our honeymoon was so amazing! We went to a resort in Playa Del Carmen and seriously reminisce on it ALL the time. We loved it there and had the most relaxing week. We got massages, snorkeled, swam with sea turtles, and had the best time!
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD CHANGE OR DO DIFFERENTLY? No there is not!
