the HALDI CEREMONY
A haldi ceremony is a cherished and significant pre-wedding tradition in Indian culture, known for its vibrant and joyous atmosphere. During this ritual, a mixture of turmeric paste, sandalwood, and rose water is applied to the bride and groom by family and close friends. The paste is believed to cleanse and purify the couple, blessing them with glowing skin and warding off evil spirits as they embark on their marital journey. The ceremony is filled with laughter, music, and playful moments, as loved ones often smear turmeric on one another, creating a scene of warmth and unity. The bright yellow of the haldi, symbolizing happiness and prosperity, sets the perfect tone for the celebrations ahead which is celebrated with dhol (drum beats), Bollywood songs and endless dancing.
The haldi ceremony is a significant prewedding event and ritual in almost every Indian regional wedding
Traditionally hosted a day or two before the wedding, the Sangeet is an evening filled with music, dance, and exuberant performances
the SANGEET CEREMONY
A Sangeet ceremony is a vibrant pre-wedding event that showcases the spirit of joy and togetherness in Indian weddings. Traditionally hosted a day or two before the wedding, the Sangeet is an evening filled with music, dance, and exuberant performances. Family and friends gather to celebrate the couple’s journey with choreographed dances, heartfelt songs, and lively group numbers that tell stories of love, laughter, and friendship. It’s a time where both sides of the family come together to bond, share lighthearted moments, and create unforgettable memories. The festive atmosphere, complete with colorful décor, traditional attire, and upbeat music, embodies the essence of Indian culture and the anticipation of the wedding to come.
