Marisol Izaguirre

Texas Photographer

Hi! My name is Marisol (which means the sea + sun) and I married my prince charming 4 months after meeting him on a blind date. Together, we have five amazing children and juggle two dogs, three chickens, and a fish tank. I have lived in deep South Texas for the past thirty years after moving here from Mexico as a tiny little girl. I love Texas and my family and I are relocating to Northeast Texas in 2021. While I am quite timid, I do love meeting all the wonderful people who have been in front of my camera. Photographing people allows me to connect and using a camera to do so has allowed me to meet so many wonderful beings across the United States. I love taking road trips and camping in some of the most beautiful and remote places of this country. I am a novice gardener and love baking bread. I balance my time between being creative and homeschooling my sweet children. My ideal date night with my husband would be candlelight and poetry. I describe my style as romantic and organic. I have been photographing weddings for 11 years and I am quite keen on this career path. I meet so many wonderful people, people like you!

Interview

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT… we attend church on Sunday mornings, but if I have the time early in the morning, you will find me tucked away in my garden.

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… visiting the state of Wyoming and seeing mountains for the first time. As a deep south Texas gal, I had not traveled much until I married my husband. He took me to see mountains and the sight of the Grand Tetons still makes me smile today. They literally took my breath away.

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS… I would love to visit Scotland! While fluent in French and mused by all things France, I would really love to visit Scotland someday.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… I love that my job keeps me creative. Being a photographer allows me to work and create every single time I put my camera to my eye and snap a photograph. I love to tell a story.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE…love one another, always. Marriage is work, daily. I would say to choose to honour your vows. Also, weddings never go according to plan - so just enjoy it!

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE… I choose Scotland again! It just seems like a wonderful environment and I hope I get to visit someday.

THE PETS I OWN ARE… two Golden Retrievers, Henry and Saorse, and three chickens: Gertrude, Harriet, and Pikachu!
